Race 1. (12:50) Headwater @ Vinery Handicap (1150m)
#4 – Rotator – Bet Now
Rotator was heavily backed to win at Rosehill last start but that money was burned. However, she could score her first career win here.
The Chris Waller-trained filly has been taking on good fields and she drops in class for this, which is going to help her chances.
A maiden win looks close after three second placings and this is her best chance.
Race 2. (13:25) Australian Turf Club Maiden (1150m)
#4 – Splendid Surprise – Bet Now
Freedman Racing lines up the Showcasing debutante which has performed well at the trials to prepare for this.
The three-year-old finished second behind Tony Nicconi first up and then scored a one-length win at Hawkesbury.
It’s only trial form but he looks to have a nice future and could make a winning start here.
Race 3. (14:00) Bradley Photographers BM70 (1300m)
#6 – Stella Sea Sun – Bet Now
Consistency is key for Stella Sea Sun, which has finished in the first three in all seven career starts to date.
The Kris Lees-trained filly is well-bred by Redoute’s Choice and she went close when running second by a half-length on this track last start.
Blake Shinn takes over the riding duties and that could see her return a winner.
Should be well-backed in the early markets.
Race 4. (14:35) Hyland’s EOFY Sale BM70 (2400m)
#1 – Not A Single Cent – Bet Now
The form line isn’t overly impressive but the three-year-old is coming off a sixth-place finish in the Group 1 Queensland Derby.
Form behind Mr Quickie has already stacked up with Vow And Declare winning at Eagle Farm last Saturday. Not A Single Cent has won only one of his 11 starts, but this field is much easier.
Having the miles under his legs will help and we’re expecting a much-improved effort.
Race 5. (15:10) Astern @ Darley BM70 (1400m)
#6 – Haut Brion Her – Bet Now
Chris Waller trains the three-year-old filly which looks well placed in this. The daughter of Zoustar ran second on debut behind Zalette before winning second up at Warwick Farm by a half-length.
She was quickly spelled following that win and her two trials back have been impressive. She ran second behind Sylvia’s Mother at Rosehill and then scored on a heavy track following that.
Good form lines coming into this and with a good barrier speed, we’re expecting a top effort.
Race 6. (15:45) ANZ Bloodstock News BM70 (1400m)
#4 – The Party Girl – Bet Now
That was an impressive last-start win from The Party Girl. She defeated the likes of Stella Sea Sun and that form could be franked earlier in the day.
Trained by David Pfieffer, the four-year-old mare is a four-time winner from 16 starts and she rose to another level last time out.
After settling back, she launched late to score at $20 and she shouldn’t be at long odds again for this.
Looms as a major chance to record back-to-back victories.
Race 7. (16:20) Tab BM70 (1550m)
#5 – Lady of Shalott – Bet Now
Punters are getting a little impatient with Lady of Shallott, but she could deliver in the final race on the card.
The Lees-trained three-year-old has finished third at her last two starts and she’s overdue another win. She did score in February at Canterbury but most expected her to kick on with it.
She hasn’t, but that doesn’t mean she can’t take this out. She maps well from the barrier and Blake Shinn takes the ride.
