Randwick horse racing tips

Race 1. (11:25) Castelvecchio @ Arrowfield Handicap (1400m)

#1 – Acrophobic – Bet Now

The John O’Shea-trained colt won by a half-length on debut at Warwick Farm and he is a good chance to win again.

He defeated a handy field and has since placed in a trial at Randwick. It’s a good sign going forward and he gets the services of James McDonald and the inside draw.

It bodes well for another tidy effort.

Race 2. (12:00) Quincy Seltzer BM74 (1800m)

#2 – Kirwan’s Lane – Bet Now

He faces a harder task here but we’re sticking with Kirwan’s Lane following his win at Canterbury.

The three-year-old has finished in the money in his last six starts, which includes wins at Newcastle and Canterbury.

He won by 2.8 lengths last start and there is plenty to like about that effort.

Race 3. (12:35) Tab Highway Handicap (1100m)

#9 – Keen Power – Bet Now

Keen Power lost no admirers when running second behind Biscara last start and his form prior was excellent.

The Matthew Dunn-trained gelding won his first two starts at Ballina and Muwillumbah, so he’s up to this grade.

Drawing barrier 15 makes it tough but he gets McDonald in the saddle and that’s going to take him a long way.

Race 4. (13:10) Schweppes BM78 (2400m)

#8 – Re Edit – Bet Now

Re Edit got back to her best form when rocketing home for second last start. The Chris Waller-trained mare made up huge ground behind Costello and she could get back to winning form.

It has been some time for the four-year-old by Camelot, but getting to 2400m might have helped her out.

54.5kg on her back and although punters are always taking a risk, she’s worth it.

Race 5. (13:50) Calyx @ Coolmore Australia BM78 (1200m)

#3 – Oakfield Twilight – Bet Now

The Oakfield horses are going well this season and Oakfield Twilight could make it back-to-back wins.

He’s a five-year-old by Zoffany that scored by a nose at Randwick last start and it was a tough effort. He rises in grade now but this isn’t a very strong field at all.

Punters should be able to get each-way odds and Chris Williams is a capable rider to have in the saddle.

Race 6. (14:30) Vale Darby McCarthy BM78 (1200m)

#3 – Enfleurage – Bet Now

The three-year-old filly didn’t lose any admirers when running sixth behind Witherspoon last time out. The race wasn’t run to suit and she’ll be better with that run under her belt.

Trained by James Cummings, the daughter of Exceed and Excel scored three wins from five starts last campaign and she looks ready to fire now.

Hugh Bowman rides and that’s going to drive down the price a touch.

Race 7. (15:10) Bob Charley June Stakes (1100m)

#1 – Classique Legend @ $2.65 – Bet Now

Classique Legend is all class and the four-year-old should have this field covered. He ran sixth in The Everest before running down the field behind Kolding.

That’s Group 1 form and the three-time winner has already won over $1.4 million from only eight starts.

He faces a tough field here first up, but he’s the runner you would want to stick with.

Race 8. (15:50) Drinkwise Mile (1600m)

#2 – Archedemus – Bet Now

The ability is there with Archedemus and it’s about time he showed his quality. He’s a seven-time winner from only 16 starts and he’s due another winning performance.

Joe Pride trains the six-year-old son of Lope de Vega that only needs some luck from the wide draw to figure in the finish.

Punters should get each-way odds to enjoy.

Race 9. (16:25) Tab BM78 (1600m)

#1 – Opacity – Bet Now

Opacity showed how good he can be when winning last start at Randwick. It was his fourth win from six starts and it’s harder here, he is worth following.

The O’Shea-trained son of Ocean Park held off the well-backed Miss Einstein at Randwick and having that track experience is ideal.

Hugh Bowman rides and he can navigate a good path from barrier 14.
