We have expert betting tips for the card this Saturday at Randwick that features nine quality betting races.
It’s a huge day of racing at Randwick, which includes the Randwick Guineas and Canterbury Stakes. We have our best value bets for the undercard races this Saturday.
Randwick horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:40) Tricolours Wenona Girl Quality (1200m)
#3 – Fasika @ $2.65 – Bet Now
Fasika owns some electric speed and she could return from a spell with a win. The Joe Pride-trained mare is a winner of three from six, including a win and placing at Randwick.
Her most recent run came against some smart types, including Kolding, so she’ll enjoy the easier contest and she should run up to her odds.
The $2.65 should remain steady in the betting markets.
Race 2. (13:15) Todman Stakes (1200m)
#2 – Farnan @ $2.90 – Bet Now
It was a stylish win from Farnan last start and he looks a top Golden Slipper type. The two-year-old defeated a similar field by over three lengths and he showed a great turn-of-foot in the straight.
His only bad run came in the Magic Millions but we’re prepared to forgive that run based on what he showed last start.
The inside draw is what he wants and it’s what he got.
Race 3. (13:50) Yarraman Park Reisling Stakes (1200m)
#4 – Cellsabeel @ $3.40 – Bet Now
It wasn’t that long ago when Cellsabeel was the Slipper favourite. She didn’t fire last start but we’re expecting quick improvement from the talented filly.
She was a devastating winner at Rosehill two starts back when winning by six lengths. It takes a good horse to do that, so she goes on top and punters are getting fair odds.
Drawing the inside barrier could see her settle closer to the pace, as she got way too far back at Rosehill.
Race 4. (14:25) Tokyo City Keiba Fireball Stakes (1100m)
#9 – Yao Dash @ $9 – Bet Now
Yao Dash is well over the odds at $9. The Waterhouse/Bott-trained gelding won on debut by 3.5 lengths before winning at Randwick by a half-length. That win came over Funstar, which has since run second at Group 1 level.
His last-start fourth came behind Bivouac, so he has the best form coming into this race and he looked good at the trials.
It’s a hot field but we thought he would start around $4, so we’re thrilled with the current odds.
Race 6. (15:45) Hyland Race Colours Challenge Stakes (1000m)
#2 – Nature Strip @ $1.95 – Bet Now
He’s an enigmatic type and he showed that when disappointing down the Flemington straight last start. The Chris Waller-trained runner is a champion at his best, and his record includes 12 wins from 21 starts.
He has yet to finish in the money in two starts at Randwick, but those have come in unsuitable conditions. Running over the 1000m is ideal and against the small field, he should be able to find the lead off the inside draw and burn them for pace late.
$1.95 is about as short as we would want to take, but it’s a good price.
Race 8. (17:05) Entire Travel Randwick City Stakes (2000m)
#8 – Shared Ambition @ $2.90 – Bet Now
All eyes will be on Shared Ambition, which returned in good order last start. The Waller-trained runner finished third behind Gaulois and he was always going to improve with the run.
The Melbourne Cup-bound gelding is a five-time winner from seven starts, and he’s going to love the conditions at Randwick on Saturday. We’re confident of his chances and it doesn’t hurt that he’s unbeaten in two second-up runs.
Race 9. (17:40) Sharp Extensive Aspiration Quality (1300m)
#1 – Danzdanzdance – Bet Now
The Kiwi runner made good ground from the back of the field last start, which bodes well for this race. He has always promised to rise to the next level and he should be able to handle this quality of field.
Drawing barrier 14 won’t do him any harm as he likes to drop back. Look him James McDonald to get him going on the turn and he should flash home late.
