Randwick free tips & form
Race 1. (11:25) Supporterhub Handicap (1400m)
#7 – Prince Fawaz – Bet Now
Punters might get a good price for this runner which has yet to win a race from starts.
However, the two-year-old colt was rattling home over 1400m last start and he would have won had he settled a touch closer.
He has 2000m+ written all over him but don’t discount his winning chances over this distance and against this opposition.
Race 2. (12:00) Highway Handicap (1000m)
#5 – Major Danger – Bet Now
Danny Williams knows how to line up winners in the Highway Handicap and this four-year-old has winning claims here.
He’s coming off a tidy 1.8-length win at Hawkesbury and that form is going to line up nicely for this.
It’s not the easiest Highway field we’ve ever seen, but he looks an each-way chance.
Race 3. (12:35) Mizuno BM74 (2000m)
#2 – Nobu – Bet Now
Couldn’t have been any more impressive when scoring at Randwick last time out by 4.3 lengths.
Chris Waller lines up the three-year-old which was good enough to run in the New Zealand Derby. He finished 17th on that occasion but didn’t have much luck.
He will settle midfield, hope for a strong pace and come with a big finishing burst.
Race 4. (13:10) Cancer Foundation BM78 (2000m)
#4 – Wolfe – Bet Now
Wolfe has won three of his four starts and he looked a nice type in the making when scoring by 1.3 lengths last time out.
The son of Novellist has good barrier speed, as many do from this stable and that allows him to stride clear and kick strongly.
That’s a good asset to have and although he’s going to find this field much harder, we’re confident he can make the step up in class.
Race 5. (13:50) Candana Bathroom Ware BM78 (1500m)
#5 – Kolding – Bet Now
Kolding has really found form of late with back-to-back wins. The Waller-trained gelding has finished in the money in seven of his nine career starts to date.
His consistency is rewarding loyal punters and he could be in for another win this Saturday. He gets the inside draw which is going to help and Jason Collett takes the ride.
Should be running well once again.
Race 6. (14:30) Wilson Asset Management BM78 (1200m)
#1 – Zonk – Bet Now
Won as she liked last start after leading throughout. The Les Bridge-trained mare was given a sweet run in transit and another good ride could secure the win.
Chris Williams retains the ride and drawing barrier three should allow her to stride forward and show most of these a clean pair of heels.
Given the quality of this field, she could run at nice odds.
Race 7. (15:10) Fujitsu Air Conditioning Handicap (1400m)
#11 – Renewal – Bet Now
Renewal was a tidy last-start winner at Randwick and that form should stack up nicely for this. The Hawkes-trained four-year-old is a five-time winner which could win again.
He used to have the knack of getting too far back and running on, but now he’s starting to put it all together and could be another threat in this.
53.5kg on the back helps.
Race 8. (15:50) EML Handicap (1100m)
#4 – Cradle Mountain @ $2.70 – Bet Now
Cradle Mountain is a highly-talented gelding which has won six from 10 starts and has looked good at the trials to prepare for this.
Drawing barrier 10 could make it tough but that 2.8-length trial win coming into this was a nice hit out and he should go close here.
Big chance in this and punters have come for it.
Race 9. (16:30) Seven News BM78 (1000m)
#11 – Star Crossed – Bet Now
Star Crossed can be hard to follow but he has talent when right and he wasn’t too far behind them last start.
That came at Scone when running fourth behind Akasaki and we’re expecting that form to hold up nicely in these middle grades.
This distance should suit and he’s worth an each way play.
