Randwick horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (11:25) Ironmark Handicap (1100m)
#7 – Sacred Field @ $2 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Sacred Field comes off two trial wins at Rosehill and Warwick Farm and that form stacks up nicely for this race.
The two-year-old son of Deep Field is bred to show early speed and the $200,000 purchase has been heavily backed to score.
$2 is a fair price given his potential.
Race 2. (12:00) Tab Highway C3 Handicap (1400m)
#1 – Golden Gorge @ $11 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Golden Gorge comes off a win at Hawkesbury and he’s good enough to score back-to-back victories.
The Kody Nestor lines up the four-year-old that owns two wins at this distance and only the wide draw is of concern here.
Punters get value odds worth taking in what is an even race.
Race 3. (12:35) Taylor Construction BM78 (2400m)
#1 – Stockman @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Joe Pride-trained four-year-old is rarely too far away from the prize and he could get back to his best form.
He is a past winner on the track and with four wins and six placings from 18 starts, he is never too far away from the mark.
$5.50 is a value price and he is worth backing.
Race 4. (13:10) Sporting Chance Cancer BM78 (1400m)
#3 – Grande Rumore @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Grande Rumore scored a win at Canterbury two back and although beaten at Hawkesbury last start, she is capable of bouncing back.
The four-year-old import has finished in the money in seven of her eight starts and she didn’t get much luck last time out.
$4 is well worth taking and barrier two is ideal.
Race 5. (13:45) Wilson Asset Management BM72 (1200m)
#7 – Sixgun @ $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Mark Newnham-trained three-year-old owns only one win from five starts, but he has every chance to double his tally.
He is a son of Snitzel that comes off a second placing at Warwick Farm and running in the heavy conditions didn’t suit.
Expect a better run here and he is another each-way value chance.
Race 6. (14:25) Fujitsu General Handicap (1100m)
#8 – Marway @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Marway is a professional 12-time winner that has rattled off three wins from his last four starts.
He has yet to race at this track but he showed blistering speed to win two back and again to score by four lengths at Wagga last start.
He makes his own luck in front and carrying 53.5kg puts him clearly on top.
Race 7. (15:05) NSW Air BM78 (1300m)
#7 – April Rain @ $2.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Class is with April Rain, which did well to run second at Gosford last start. The Chris Waller-trained mare owns three wins from five starts and she is rising through the grades.
Having had the run under her belt is ideal and we’re not surprised at the short odds available on Saturday.
Take the $2.10 before she shortens to an odds-on quote.
Race 8. (15:45) Precise Air Handicap (1400m)
#1 – Eleven Eleven @ $6.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Class is with Eleven Eleven, which owns seven wins from 22 starts and he has over $2 million in prize money.
The four-year-old gelding has yet to fire in three attempts at Randwick, but he has the class to overcome that statistic.
This is his favourite distance and punters get value odds.
Race 9. (16:25) Uphire BM78 (1100m)
#3 – Lillemor @ $10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Lillemor is a noted fresh up performer having posted two wins from three fresh up attempts.
She is a quality four-year-old that owns five wins from 15 starts and her recent trial form bodes well for this contest.
We expect a big effort and $10 is well worth taking.
