Randwick free tips & form

Race 1. (11:40) Theraces Maiden Handicap (1000m)

#2 – Spaceboy @ $3 – Bet Now

Spaceboy is becoming a bit of a trial star, but he now needs to show that same speed on race day. The Gary Portelli-trained colt is undefeated in three trials to date.

His race day form includes a placing on debut at Rosehill before running third in the Wyong 2YO Classic. That run was solid and he has scored two impressive trial wins since.

Needs to show its true ability here but punters are getting nice enough odds.

Race 2. (12:15) Events By ATC BM78 (1000m)

#7 – Exceltic @ $9.50 – Bet Now

Another Portelli-trained runner which was kept in check last start but could offer some value at each-way odds.

The three-year-old colt broke maiden grades when winning at Gosford in December and although beaten in three starts since, he has some ability.

Dropping in weight to 53.5kg is a big bonus and he’s worth including.

Race 3. (12:50) Highway Handicap (1400m)

#2 – We Concur @ $3 – Bet Now

Matthew Dunn has a great record in the Highway Handicap and he lines up We Concur, which is coming off a win.

The three-year-old gelding has won three of his six starts and is yet to finish outside of the first three. His win at Ipswich last start came against average opposition but it was a step in the right direction.

Drawing barrier two will see him land on the speed and give a good kick in the straight.

Race 4. (13:25) Heritage Centre Tours BM78 (1800m)

#12 – Welsh Legend @ $4.80 – Bet Now

There has been plenty of money come for Welsh Legend and that’s hardly surprising down in the weights at 52kg.

The Chris Waller-trained filly isn’t in the best of form coming into this but her most recent run came in the Adrian Knox Stakes. That’s hot form for this and she has been primed with a trial placing at Canterbury.

Should be well-received in the market come race day.

Race 5. (14:05) Tab Rewards BM78 (1100m)

#9 – Kapajack @ $3.40 – Bet Now

Scored a good win on debut at Rosehill, which interestingly came in a rating 78 race. Team Hawkes obviously though plenty of this gelding and although beaten since, his merits are still strong.

Getting the inside draw for this run is going to help him a lot and although he’s facing a more than capable field, he should offer plenty in the run.

He opened at $4 and has steadily dropped since.

Race 6. (14:45) Kensington BM78 (1300m)

#8 – Jen Rules @ $5 – Bet Now

Jen Rules has the ability to bounce back after running sixth in the J.B. Carr Stakes last start, which should be good form for this.

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained runner was a winner at Kembla Grange prior to that and her best form would take her close.

She placed at her only start on this track and she could run a nice race.

Race 7. (15:25) Tab BM88 (1250m)

#3 – Passage of Time @ $4.40 – Bet Now

Joe Pride lines up the five-year-old which has won four of his 18 starts and although he’s promised to do more, he’s a live chance in this.

He’s coming off a second placing at Randwick and he’s a three-time winner over this distance.

There’s not much between this field top the bottom, but he should offer punters with a good showing.

Race 8. (16:05) May BM88 (1400m)

#8 – Star of the Seas @ $3.80 – Bet Now

Star of the Seas is a consistent runner for Chris Waller which has yet to run worse than third from nine career starts.

That’s an impressive record considering the level of opposition he has faced to date. He was beaten last start at Randwick but he only narrowly went down and getting the inside draw is going to make him tough to beat again.

Nice odds on offer considering.

Race 9. (16:45) Australian Turf Club BM78 (1550m)

#10 – Agassi @ $3.20 – Bet Now

That was a strong win by Agassi last start and a repeat could be on the cards. The Anthony Cummings-trained gelding scored by 2.8 lengths in a terrific display.

He’s still a three-year-old which has more maturing to do, but he could mature into a handy type and he has the class to beat this field.

$3.60 was on offee but that has been taken.
