Randwick horse racing tips

Race 1. (11:35) Tab Highway Handicap (1200m)

#6 – Hellenism @ $4.80 – Bet Now

Hellenism ran third in a similar race last start and it could get back to winning form. The four-year-old mare won a Highway Handicap at Randwick in January and she got too far back last start.

She’s better for the run and having Tim Clark in the saddle should ensure a more positive ride. That’s going to help and she should be right there in the finish.

Race 2. (12:10) Central Coast Mariners Handicap (1200m)

#5 – Peltzer @ $14 – Bet Now

Peltzer scored an impressive win on debut at Kembla Grange and we like the form out of that race. He ran over the top of Anders, which is a nice two-year-old.

The colt by So You Think will only improve with time and he could finish over the top of a better field here.

Drawing barrier nine will likely see him drift back and hit the line hard.

Race 3. (12:45) Tooheys BM78 (1100m)

#6 – Adelong @ $2.35 – Bet Now

Adelong has yet to run worse than second in five attempts and she didn’t lose any admirers when placing last start.

She finished second behind Lesage, who she squares off against here, but she could turn the tables this time around.

James McDonald sticks with her and she paid $1.70 last start, so punters should be able to get better odds on Saturday.

Race 4. (13:20) Westpac Rescue Helicopter BM78 (1400m)

#2 – Subpoenaed @ $3.70 – Bet Now

Running second behind Rubisaki is good form and she was steaming home. The Chris Waller-trained filly has been pushing good horses close this season and she deserves a win.

The former Kiwi relished the drop back in distance after failing over longer distances. She’s ideally-suited at 1400m and she could storm home again.

The jockey change is interesting but she should be respected.

Race 5. (14:00) Master Builders Association BM78 (1200m)

#14 – Masked Crusader @ $1.70 – Bet Now

The Hawkes-trained gelding is a nice type on the rise after winning his last two starts. He won by a length at Bendigo last time out before being scratched last start.

He shouldn’t have lost any condition from that and he’ll be ready to fire here. Bookmakers have him short in the betting and that was to be expected.

He’s the one to follow.

Race 6. (14:40) Signarama Erina/Gosford BM78 (1800m)

#11 – Loveseat @ $7.50 – Bet Now

Value is with the last-start winner that scored easily at Canterbury. Trained by James Cummings, Loveseat finished off stylishly at midweek level and she can handle the rise in class.

The daughter of Savabeel now owns four wins and eight placings from 19 starts, so she’s consistent. That makes the $7.50 seem generous from bookmakers in this race.

Hugh Bowman is riding well and she should go close.

Race 7. (15:20) Luux Prop Gosford Gold Cup (2000m)

#6 – Greysful Glamour @ $4.20 – Bet Now

The small-framed mare continues to run well after finishing second behind Life Less Ordinary at Randwick.

Prior to that she won at Caulfield fresh up and her record this preparation also includes a placing behind Missybeel.

She doesn’t go down without a fight and early money has come for the talented four-year-old.

Race 8. (16:00) Debortoli Takeover Target (1200m)

#3 – Greyworm @ $2.90 – Bet Now

Greyworm is a professional winner of eight from 14 starts and he looks a good chance of adding to his record.

The Hawkes-trained five-year-old scored by over a length at Randwick last start and with three runs under his belt, he should go close again.

He’s an adaptable type that can run on any surface, so the conditions on Saturday won’t be an issue.

Race 9. (16:40) Kentan Machinery BM88 (1600m)

#6 – Masaff @ $9 – Bet Now

Chris Waller trains the imported son of Raven’s Pass, which has finished in the money in six of his seven overseas starts.

He looked forward in a recent trial at Rosehill and although his best form comes over longer distances, he’s not facing a champion field here.

Look for a betting push on race day.
