We have expert betting tips for the card this Saturday at Randwick that features 10 quality betting races.
There are three Group 1 races on the card at Randwick, and we have our best bets for every race on the card.
Randwick horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:50) Midway BM78 (1000m)
#7 – Delexo – Bet @ Sportsbet
Delexo is a four-year-old gelding who has won his last two. The son of Exosphere scored by a length at Kembla Grange last start as a $1.65 favourite, so that bodes well.
Dropping to 54kg is ideal and the three-time winner at this distance has many more wins in store, especially at this level.
We expect him to be firm in betting markets.
Race 2. (12:25) Keeneland Gimcrack Stakes (1000m)
#2 – Coolangatta @ $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Coolangatta has been heavily backed for one of the most exciting races on the calendar. The Gimcrack is always a great race to watch, and there is always a short favourite.
The two-year-old filly comes off a trial win at Randwick by 3.3 lengths, and the daughter of Written Tycoon is bred to be good.
Having James McDonald in the saddle only adds to her chances of success.
Race 3. (13:00) Arrowfield Breeders’ Plate (1000m)
#4 – Kibou @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained colt is another juvenile who looked good at the trials.
He scored by 3.3 lengths in a dominant trial at Randwick, which should be an excellent form guide for race day.
Barrier 14 means he needs to show good barrier speed, but that shouldn’t be a problem.
Race 4. (13:45) Tab BM88 (1600m)
#3 – Bigboyroy – Bet @ Sportsbet
Punters came up short with Bigboyroy two weeks ago, but the Chris Waller-trained gelding could get back to his winning ways.
The son of Dissident owns four wins and 14 placings from 24 starts, so he’s rarely too far away from the prize.
It’s another premium ride for McDonald, and punters should expect each-way odds.
Race 5. (14:10) Yulong Hill Stakes (2000m)
#1 – Think It Over @ $2 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Think It Over is a genuine Group 1 horse and punters will likely jump on the $2 available for the Hill Stakes.
The Kerry Parker-trained gelding finished third behind Verry Elleegant last time out, in what was a driving finish at Randwick.
He’s a four-time winner at Randwick, so he demands attention.
Race 6. (14:45) ACY Securities Premiere Stakes (1200m)
#5 – Rothfire @ $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
We were impressed by the return of Rothfire last start. The top-level sprinter finished 3.4 lengths behind Eduardo, which is a great effort after such a devastating injury.
The four-year-old is a seven-time winner from 10 starts, so he’s electric and ready to get back to his winning ways.
It’s not easy field and we respect Masked Crusader, but we’re in the camp of Rothfire.
Race 10. (17:20) Cleanaway BM94 (1200m)
#12 – Gravina @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Gravina did enough when fresh up at Randwick to warrant attention. He finished third behind Triple Ace, and dropping to 52.5kg makes him tough to beat.
He’s facing harder opposition, but he’s a two-time winner at Randwick and that bodes well for this contest.
$5 is a fair price from bookmakers and it could firm throughout the week.
