Randwick horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:50) Forum Group Kirkham Plate (1000m)
#10 – Mura Mura @ $3.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The expensive purchase ($650,000) makes her debut for Peter and Paul Snowden. She looked good winning a trial at Warwick Farm by over a length, so that is a good sign.
Early money has come her way and is often with the case in two-year-old races, the money is worth following.
Tim Clark rides so expect a positive effort out of the gates.
Race 2. (13:25) Tab Highway Handicap (1800m)
#11 – Cosmic Haze @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Punters should always respect Brett Cavanough-trained runners at this level and Cosmic Haze is no different.
The four-year-old mare is a one-time winner from 14 starts and she also has four placings to her name.
Tom Sherry takes 3kg off her back and that could be the winning factor.
Race 3. (14:00) AMD Brian Cowley Stakes (1200m)
#1 – Destination @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Destination scored a win fresh up before rattling off three consecutive placings. The most recent came at Rosehill behind Wild Ruler, which is hot form for this race.
The three-year-old has since been primed with a trial placing at Hawkesbury and he should be ready to fire at this level.
$3 is a good price and those odds should firm.
Race 4. (14:35) Robrick Lodge Filante Handicap (1400m)
#8 – Criaderas @ $1.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Criaderas picked them up nicely to score at Randwick and although facing a tough field again, he is the leading chance.
The James Cummings-trained four-year-old owns four wins from five starts and he gets every chance with only 52kg on his back.
$1.80 is short but it’s reflective of his natural ability.
Race 5. (15:15) Tatts Club Cup (2400m)
#1 – Grey Lion @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Punters got the chocolates when Grey Lion won at Doomben last start and the nine-year-old demands respect.
He has faced tough opposition throughout his career and although tough to follow, he has his confidence back.
Stick with him at the each-way quote.
Race 7. (16:35) Daily Press The Nivision Stakes (1200m)
#8 – Athiri @ $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Athiri has hit top gear after consecutive wins. The Cummings-trained mare scored both wins at Randwick and the most recent came against a similar field.
Prior to that she defeated the likes of Prime Star and we are expecting that form to stack up well for this race.
$4.80 is a quote worth taking before it drops during the week.
Race 8. (17:10) Southern Cross BM88 (1200m)
#9 – Yao Dash @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Yao Dash has plenty of speed and although his recent form hasn’t been fantastic, he has run fourth in the Group 1 Golden Rose.
Drawing barrier 16 won’t help his chances but he has good barrier speed and Nash Rawiller will likely head forward.
His odds are drifting so punters will get a value price.
Race 9. (17:50) Sharp Eit BM78 (1600m)
#11 – Icebath @ $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Icebath is running out of chances but she gets every chance to score an overdue win against this opposition.
The four-year-old mare gets a valuable 3kg off her back from Tom Sherry, and she drops in grade after taking on Flit and Alligator Blood.
The top chance with some luck in running.
