Randwick horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:20) Gimcrack Stakes (1000m)
#3 – Fall On A Star – Bet Now
This is a tough race to line up but Fall On A Star ran a quick time when scoring a trial win at Randwick.
The Kris Lees-trained filly by Zoustar ran 50.53 when scoring by a length over 847m and she has drawn nicely in barrier five.
She is bred for speed and should provide punters with a good sight.
Race 2. (12:55) Arrowfield Breeders’ Plate (1000m)
#3 – Belieber – Bet Now
The Waterhouse/Bott team could have a smart colt on their hands here following a good trial performance.
He’s a two-year-old colt by Zoustar which scored by 2.3 lengths at Randwick and it came in a very good time considering the track conditions.
He ran a quicker time than Fall On A Star and he travelled seven metres more. Follow the form out of the opening race as a guide.
Race 3. (13:30) Gow Gates BM88 (1600m)
#10 – Angel of Heaven – Bet Now
Faces a tough field here but she’s going to get every chance with only 52kg on her back
The Kris Lees-trained mare has three wins from nine starts and was hitting the line with purpose against a few of these last time out.
Gets every chance to impress off the inside barrier and there could be some good betting support on race day for the four-year-old.
Race 5. (14:45) Premiere Stakes (1200m)
#2 – Classique Legend @ $2.15 – Bet Now
That was a huge effort to run second in The Shorts behind Pierata last start and he’s only going to improve with the run.
He’s a four-year-old which has yet to finish outside of the placings and he could be the next sprinting superstar out of Australia.
Drawing barrier five over this distance isn’t overly bad for him as he likes to get clear running room in the straight.
$2.15 is a price which could firm into an odds-on quote come race day.
Race 6. (15:25) Hill Stakes (2000m)
#9 – Verry Elleegant @ $3.40 – Bet Now
Punters have been a little disappointed with Verry Elleegant in two runs back this campaign, but she was always going to need the run.
The Oaks winner has the class edge over this field and it looks like her time to strike. She finished off nicely for fourth last start behind Avilius and the 2000m is ideal.
She will be wanting a solid pace up front and with Samadoubt and Angel of Truth both running, she should get that.
Race 9. (17:25) Snitzel Sprint BM88 (1200m)
#9 – Roheryn – Bet Now
The James Cummings-trained gelding is becoming expensive for punters this campaign but he has a win in store.
He’s a three-time winner from six starts which has been getting too far back in the run and struggling to make ground late.
Jockey Kerrin McEvoy will endeavour to settle him closer to the pace off the inside draw and that could be the winning of the race.
55kg helps and it should be improving nicely.
