Randwick free tips & form
Race 1. (13:25) Everest Carnival Maiden (1400m)
#3 – Entente @ $2.30 – Bet Now
The Waterhouse/Bott team lines up Entente, which has good trial form coming into this.
He’s a well-bred colt by Dundeel which scored a trial win at Rosehill and he looks to have plenty of scope.
Since markets opened, money has come. He opened at $3.10 and has already firmed into $2.30.
He could start odds on and run accordingly.
Race 2. (14:00) Press Statement @ Vinery BM64 (1100m)
#5 – Courageous @ $26 – Bet Now
Much longer in the odds than expected after running third behind Pandemic on debut then winning at Kembla.
The Bjorn Baker-trained colt made good ground in the straight to score last time out and that run should hold him in good stead.
He didn’t beat much but that doesn’t always matter. He’ll have confidence and this stable is rolling nicely at the moment.
Worth taking at the odds.
Race 3. (14:35) Australian Turf Club BM74 (1000m)
#1 – Royal Witness @ $2.10 – Bet Now
Royal Witness will have to carry a big weight, but that doesn’t always matter over the 1000m distance.
He comes into this with a top effort to score at Randwick and that form has been franked. God of Thunder finished second and has since won at Rosehill in easy fashion.
He’s taking on some inexperienced runners here and deserves to be favourite.
Race 4. (15:10) ANZ Bloodstock News BM70 (2400m)
#1 – Castel Sant’angelo @ $3.60 – Bet Now
The four-year-old gelding doesn’t know how to run a bad race after scoring two wins already this preparation.
He fought off all challengers when scoring at Warwick Farm last month and anything close to that will be good enough.
Drawing barrier 16 isn’t attractive but he owns good barrier speed and has a solid motor.
Race 5. (15:45) Ribchester @ Darley BM76 (1550m)
#5 – Zalette @ $3.80 – Bet Now
Scratched from a harder race last Saturday, Zalette could find this level of opposition more to her liking.
The Chris Waller-trained four-year-old won her first three starts before taking on tough fields and running poorly.
She’s better than that, however, so stick with her and allow one more chance against a midweek field.
Race 6. (16:20) The Agency Real Estate BM74 (1300m)
#2 – Rock @ $2.20 – Bet Now
We are sticking with Rock following his dominant victory at Canterbury last time out.
The Hawkes-trained four-year-old scored by two lengths and he really sprinted well in the straight, which is a good sign.
Rises up in weight for this but the opposition doesn’t get much harder and he could rise through the grades nicely.
Race 7. (16:55) TAB BM70 (1300m)
#11 – Subpoenaed @ $2 – Bet Now
Former Kiwi runner which won on debut before finishing second at Canterbury last time out.
The filly by Rip Van Winkle didn’t get the best of rides from James McDonald, who settled her too far back in the run.
However, she made up huge ground in the straight and that could be a sign of things to come.
Drawing barrier 12 will likely see her drop back again, but the extra distance gives her more time to wind up.
