2018 Robert Sangster Stakes Form Guide & Tips
Secret Agenda ($10) – BET NOW
Mick Price lines up this speedy type which scored a good win fresh but has been only fair since.
She finished close behind Dainty Tess last start and that was a nice return to form but drawing barrier 14 won’t make it easy this time around.
Viddora (Best Bet – $4.60) – BET NOW
Viddora lost no admirers when running second last start and the Manikato Stakes runner-up has plenty of class to call upon.
She has won eight of her 25 starts and the majority of those wins have come recently with the five-year-old hitting top gear this season.
Drawing the inside should help her chances and the winner of over $2 million is paying a nice price here.
Super Cash ($7.50) – BET NOW
That was a strong fresh up win for Super Cash at Caulfield and she could run well again.
The Andrew Noblet-trained daughter of Written Tycoon scored by a nose against a quality field and she has since won a trial at Cranbourne.
Craig Williams rides and she should be in the thick of the action.
Missrock ($17) – BET NOW
Capable on her day but she doesn’t have the best winning record and she seemingly struggles against the best opposition.
Would need the perfect trip in transit to take this out.
Dainty Tess ($12) – BET NOW
Caused a minor upset when beating a similar field last time out and she could continue on with that form.
The Daniel Morton-trained mare has a professional record of 12 wins from 33 starts and the Ascot-based runner didn’t mind running at Morphettville for the first time last start.
$11 is a good price and one that shouldn’t be overlooked by punters.
Quilista (Best Each Way – $5.50) – BET NOW
Quilista is in the form of her life after scoring three straight victories.
The Darren Weir-trained runner scored at Flemington before winning consecutive races in Sydney. The most recent came at Randwick during The Championships and that’s great form for this.
She has great natural speed and we’re predicting her to settle forward and to kick strongly.
Whispering Brook ($15) – BET NOW
Another Weir-trained runner, Whispering Brook has been in good form this campaign with two wins from three starts.
She has drawn well with Dean Yendall in the saddle and we wouldn’t rule out her chances at nice odds.
Miss Gunpowder ($35) – BET NOW
Miss Gunpowder finally scored another win last time out after a long run of outs.
The Lindsay Park-trained runner has always possessed Group 1 quality but she’s not running at her very best and it will take her best to win this race.
Pedrena ($23) – BET NOW
You won’t find many horses as consistent as Pedrena and it could surprise a few punters at nice odds.
She has won five from 10 starts with three placings and she has run first or second at her last seven starts.
That’s some record and it shouldn’t be overlooked.
Legless Veuve ($27) – BET NOW
Has won fresh up in the past and that came against high-quality opposition but her best efforts this campaign will come over more ground.
She will need a lot of luck from out wide so best to put her away for another day.
It’s Been A Battle ($101) – BET NOW
Scored consecutive wins this campaign but not even close to this level.
The odds tell punters all they need to know.
Mica Lil ($51) – BET NOW
1.8 lengths behind Whispering Brook last start which is good form, but she would need to find another couple of lengths to go close here.
Could show up at odds but in something slightly easier.
Mystified ($126) – BET NOW
Hasn’t been in good form this campaign and we’re surprised to see it entered in this field.
Shoals ($14) – BET NOW
High-quality filly which has scored six wins from nine starts and the wide draw is the only thing counting against her.
Drawing barrier 16 for an on-pace runner spells trouble and she will have a tough time crossing from out wide.
Catchy (Best Roughie – $10) – BET NOW
Returned to form with a quality win in the Group 2 Arrowfield Stakes last start at Randwick.
The Blue Diamond winner had been out of form for awhile but she bounced back in fine order and she has drawn to get every chance from barrier eight.
Watch for her to finish over the top of them.
Formality ($13) – BET NOW
Another quality three-year-old which suffered cardiac arrhythmia last time out, so forgive that effort.
Her form prior included three wins from five starts and Formality at her best would trouble many of these.
Tulip ($35) – BET NOW
Another quality three-year-old which has shown good form throughout her career but drawing barrier 18 almost puts pay to her chances.
True Excelsior ($101) – BET NOW
Looks well-held here.
