Robert Sangster Stakes Form Guide & Tips
1. Sunlight ($2.90) Bet Now
Sunlight couldn’t get the better of Gytrash last start. She found good barrier pace but couldn’t keep up the gallop.
Drawing 16 means she will need to fly the barriers and the $2.90 isn’t a good price. We’re taking the risk and leaving her out of selections.
2. I Am Excited (Best Roughie – $9) Bet Now
The five-year-old mare made good ground last start and the improved track conditions should do her plenty of good.
She’s always a chance of winning and punters are getting great odds. Take the $9 as those odds should firm in come race day.
3. Savatiano (Best Each Way – $10) Bet Now
Savatiano is a consistent mare that opened at value odds and we’re backing her in. Trained by James Cummings, the daughter of Street Cry is a winner of over $1.5 million.
She has to be respected and her form earlier this campaign should stack up strongly for this race.
4. Madam Rouge ($26) Bet Now
She was good enough to score back-to-back wins earlier this season. Recent form hasn’t been good, however, so we’re not including her in selections.
She is a four-time winner at this distance, so money could come for her late.
5. Teleplay ($20) Bet Now
Punters get value odds for Teleplay, which made good ground fresh up and she was set for this race.
Connections are confident of a good run and although winning this race isn’t easy, $20 makes her an appealing proposition.
6. Bam’s on Fire ($16) Bet Now
She scored an all-the-way win at Caulfield last start and she’s good enough to go close at Group 1 level.
She has finished in the money in 16 of her 19 starts and that consistency shouldn’t be overlooked.
7. Spanish Whisper ($34) Bet Now
Her recent form has been solid but she hasn’t been able to beat easier fields. She’ll likely struggle to beat a field of this quality.
8. Humma Humma ($18) Bet Now
The four-year-old is more than capable on her day and she was primed with a good run at Caulfield.
With four starts worth of experience at Morphettville, Humma Humma shouldn’t be overlooked. It’s a tricky track and she knows it well.
9. Embrace Me ($34) Bet Now
She didn’t run well at Moonee Valley last start and it’s hard seeing that form turn around. Drawing barrier 17 doesn’t help her chances either.
10. Bella Vella ($23) Bet Now
Back-to-back wins this campaign hold Bella Vella in good stead. One of those wins came on this track and she showed good barrier speed.
We wouldn’t be ruling her out at the odds.
11. Amberdi ($126) Bet Now
It wasn’t a good effort from Amberdi last start and the odds tell the story. She shouldn’t be winning this race.
12. Everday Lady ($151) Bet Now
She’s out of form and the $151 is bang on the money.
13. Street Icon ($76) Bet Now
She’s in solid form but we doubt her ability to sprint with them here. Drawing barrier three is ideal and she should settle close, but succumb to the pressure late.
14. Beautiful Flyer ($91) Bet Now
Disappointing at Caulfield last start and it would be a mammoth upset result. She likes this track but that’s where the positives end.
15. Lyre ($10) Bet Now
Lyre made a big impression early in her career but she hasn’t done much of late. The three-year-old has been close but she’s not in winning form.
$10 is a touch short of value.
16. Away Game (Best Bet – $4.60) Bet Now
The Group 1 two-year-old faces her toughest test and it has been a long campaign, but she gets in with only 47kg.
That’s a 9.5kg weight allowance over Sunlight and although she’s not as good, she’s tough and is rock-hard fit.
We’re fans of Away Game and we’re happy to climb on board again.
17. Mystery Love ($26) Bet Now
She’s a quality mare in the making but this might be too much too soon. Wait for a better betting opportunity, but the $26 shouldn’t be completely overlooked.
