Rockhampton horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (12:56) 2YO Maiden (1100m)
#2 – Dare To Share – Bet @ Sportsbet
Dare To Share finished second on debut at Mackay, and that form typically stacks up nicely at Rockhampton.
The Bowen-trained colt is a locally-trained runner that scored a trial win last month. It was a solid 1.8-length win, which should top him off nicely for this run.
Barrier three and the small field is ideal.
Race 2. (13:34) Maiden Handicap (1600m)
#2 – Navarre – Bet @ Sportsbet
Navarre turned around moderate form to place second at Rockhampton last start. The four-year-old gelding beat 13 other runners, so it was a positive outing.
It was his fifth second placing from 17 career starts, and although yet to win, the overdue success could come on Wednesday.
Look for each-way odds from bookmakers.
Race 3. (14:30) Maiden Handicap (1200m)
#4 – Bagger Twisties – Bet @ Sportsbet
The three-year-old gelding comes off a career-best placing at Gladstone, and although rising in class, he can’t be overlooked.
He is a son of Bagger Vance that should be paying generous double-figure odds with bookmakers, so he’s worth including at the price.
Race 4. (14:44) Open Handicap (1300m)
#2 – I Did It Again – Bet @ Sportsbet
I Did It Again has rattled off four consecutive wins, and the six-year-old has every chance of extending his winning streak.
The son of Nicconi scored narrowly over a quality field at Mackay lasts start, and he is unbeaten at Rockhampton.
There is plenty to like about his record, so put him on top.
Race 5. (15:19) BM58 Handicap (1300m)
#1 – All Star Rocket – Bet @ Sportsbet
All Star Rocket doesn’t know how to run a bad race after posting four wins and five placings from 12 starts.
The Trinity Bannon-trained and ridden mare scored in heavy conditions at Townsville last start, so she handles all conditions.
She will appreciate the fitness, and we have her on top.
Race 6. (15:54) BM65 Handicap (1600m)
#8 – Annmarie – Bet @ Sportsbet
The six-year-old mare has only one win from 44 race day starts, but the experienced runner could score the elusive victory.
She has been knocking on the door after consecutive placings, and her maiden win came only four starts back. She has found her zest for racing, and it bodes well for this contest.
Punters will get generous odds and they are worth taking.
Race 7. (16:29) BM70 Handicap (1100m)
#1 – Ahwahneechee – Bet @ Sportsbet
The son of Zupaone is nearing a win after posting three consecutive second placings at Emerald, Rockhampton, and Mackay.
He is a five-time winner which also has 10 placings on his record. His consistency rewards punters and his best form comes over this distance.
We would be surprised if he wasn’t fighting out the finish despite carrying a big weight of 62.5kg.
Race 8. (17:04) R55 Handicap (1100m)
#3 – Roadhouse – Bet @ Sportsbet
Roadhouse showed pace during his first campaign, and he should be able to hit the ground running this preparation.
The four-year-old son of Moshe scored on debut at Mackay before running second at Toowoomba last time out. He was no match for the winner, but the form stacks up well for this contest.
Ashley Butler rides from barrier six, and he should get a nice drag into the race from there.
