Rosehill horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:45) Baillieu Quality (1400m)

#6 – Conrad @ $4.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Conrad comes off a win at Wyong and he scored with ease by 3.8 lengths. The Kim Waugh-trained gelding led throughout and kicked away for a comfortable victory.

It followed on from an unlucky debut at Canterbury, so the son of Maurice could easily be unbeaten at this point.

$4.40 is a fair price from bookmakers and he could garner support on race day.

Race 2. (13:20) Neville Sellwood (2000m)

#1 – Master of Wine @ $2.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Master of Wine will appreciate the drop in class after running sixth behind Verry Elleegant in the Ranvet last week.

It’s not easy to back up a week later and this field is still of high quality, but he looks ready to fire and he’s a two-time winner at Rosehill.

55.5kg is a luxury weight and we expect big bets to come for him throughout the week.

Race 3. (13:55) Tulloch Stakes (2000m)

#1 – Cherry Tortoni @ $4.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Cherry Tortoni was given too much to do at Moonee Valley last start and although beaten, he wasn’t disgraced when finishing fourth.

His run for second in the Guineas is a much better form guide and that came behind Lunar Fox, which has since run some solid races.

The level of opposition in Sydney is strong but he has the class edge over this field.

Race 4. (14:35) Emancipation Stakes (1500m)

#1 – Krone @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Winning form is good form and Krone has been electric this season. The Tony Gollan-trained five-year-old has rattled off three consecutive wins against high level opposition.

She won the Group 1 Coolmore last time out and when beating Mizzy and prior to that she put 1.8 lengths on Tricky Gal, which has since run well.

She is unbeaten from two starts at Rosehill and her only start over 1500m, so she deserves to be the best-backed runner in this race.

Race 5. (15:15) Star Kingdom Stakes (1200m)

#12 – Wisdom of Water @ $14 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Wisdom of Water has had a stable change to Annabel Neasham and it could result in a much better campaign.

The former Queenslander didn’t fire in two runs last preparation, but he’s a smart three-year-old colt on his day.

His recent 3.3-length trial win at Randwick is a good indication of his talent and punters get value double-figure odds for a runner carrying 54kg.

Race 8. (17:15) Doncaster Prelude (1500m)

#13 – Yao Dash @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Yao Dash showed them a clean pair of heels when scoring last time out. The four-year-old faces a sharp rise in class, but with only 53kg on his back, he could lead them a merry chase.

He is a four-time winner from 12 starts and if he finds the front by himself, expect him to kick on strongly around the turn.

He loves Rosehill and with Craig Williams in the saddle, punters are getting value each-way odds.

Race 9. (17:50) Cleanaway BM88 (1400m)

#5 – Starspangled Rodeo @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The former New Zealand runner has found a new lease on life in Australia after finishing second behind Yao Dash at Rosehill.

He followed that up with another placing at Muswellbrook and although facing a harder field on Saturday, he deserves a win.

It’s good to see early betting support at $5 and punters always get a good sight with this runner.
