Rosehill horse racing tips

Race 1. (13:10) Schweppes BM72 (1300m)

#6 – Kiku @ $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Kiku was strong when winning at Rosehill last start and although dropping in distance, she could repeat the effort.

The Chris Waller-trained three-year-old gets the services of James McDonald and despite drifting odds, we’re confident of her chances.

Race 2. (13:45) Precise Air BM72 (1500m)

#7 – Toscanini – Bet @ Sportsbet

Toscanini is on fire after winning his last two starts and he deserves a chance to win at this level.

The well-bred son of Fastnet Rock scored by 1.8 lengths at Newcastle before doubling down to win at Hawkesbury by a length.

Drawing in barrier two helps and punters should expect another tidy effort.

Race 3. (14:20) Tab Highway Handicap (1800m)

#1 – Deadly Impact @ $8.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The son of Deep Impact was only a short margin behind the winner last start and he has plenty of things in his favour.

He scored a win at his only start at Rosehill and despite drawing barrier 12, he should be able to find a good spot in running.

Rising up in distance looks ideal and the each-way odds are generous.

Race 4. (14:55) De Bortoli Wines BM72 (1800m)

#7 – Secretly Awesome – Bet @ Sportsbet

It could pay to overlook the performances of Secretly Awesome this campaign as he needed the race fitness.

The four-year-old son of Snitzel owns two wins from five starts and after two runs this time in, he should be ready to fire.

We are expecting value odds with bookmakers on race day.

Race 5. (15:35) Iron EJack BM88 (1400m)

#7 – Enchanted Heart @ $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Enchanted Heart scored back-to-back wins at Randwick and Rosehill before finishing second at Newcastle.

The talented daughter of Shamus Award was only a short margin behind Great News and that form will stack up nicely.

Carrying 55.5kg is ideal and the six-time winner should go close.

Race 6. (16:15) Sky Racing Active BM78 (2000m)

#7 – Accountability – Bet @ Sportsbet

The form of Accountablity is terrific for this race and the Waller-trained gelding has every chance of continuing it.

He scored a win at Rosehill last month when beating Stockman before winning again at Kembla Grange last start.

He has matured into a nice type this season and jumping from barrier one with James McDonald in the saddle is ideal.

Race 7. (16:55) Members Christmas BM88 (1100m)

#3 – True Detective – Bet @ Sportsbet

Chris Waller lines up the four-year-old gelding that is classy at best and he should be right around the mark here.

He owns three wins at Rosehill and despite being fresh up, he finds form early in this preparation.

2kg comes off his back and we are confident of a positive return to racing.

Race 8. (17:35) Quincy Seltzer BM78 (1350m)

#11 – Selica @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Selica has been working well since being transferred from the Phillip Stokes stable and that is a good sign.

The four-year-old mare is a two-time winner from 11 starts that last raced at Flemington in July, so she has had time to recuperate.

She gets a 2kg claimer in the saddle and she should run well.

Race 9. (18:10) Rosehill Bowling Club BM78 (1200m)

#9 – Surreal Step – Bet @ Sportsbet

Surreal Step only just missed last start and he could go one better on Saturday. The four-year-old finished second at Newcastle and he goes best at this distance.

He has had seven starts over the 1200m trip for two wins and three placings, which is an impressive record.

Drawing barrier 13 doesn’t make it easy but having McDonald riding helps.
