Rosehill horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:35) Darley Handicap (1100m)
#2 – North Pacific @ $2.70 – Bet Now
North Pacific has had one start for a third placing before being sent for a spell. That placing came behind Golden Slipper winner Farnan, so it’s a cracking form guide.
Trained by Team Hawkes, he has since run well at the trials and his opening odds were smashed within minutes.
Take the $2.70 as it will firm.
Race 2. (12:10) De Bortoli Wines BM78 (2000m)
#10 – Fulmina @ $3 – Bet Now
Punters had to be impressed with Fulmina’s win at Rosehill last start and she gets into this race well off on the weights.
The three-year-old filly by Snitzel gets in with only 53kg on her back, which is a half-kilo more than she carried in this grade last start.
Money is coming for her and that is not surprising.
Race 3. (12:45) Tab Highway Handicap (1400m)
#15 – Dream Runner – Bet Now
Not much went right for Dream Runner last time out in the Highway Handicap but stick with him. He got too far back in the run on a track where they weren’t making ground.
His two wins prior to that were full of class and we wouldn’t be dropping him from selections based on one effort.
Watch for a market push throughout the week.
Race 4. (13:20) Bowermans Furniture BM74 (1500m)
#6 – Café Royal – Bet Now
Café Royal lost no admirers when running third at Rosehill last start and the experience should do her plenty of good.
The three-year-old by Snitzel scored four wins and two placings from six starts, so there is a lot to like and she could get back to winning form.
It is a tough race but she should go well at each-way odds.
Race 5. (13:55) Ranvet BM78 (1100m)
#3 – Switched – Bet Now
Switched was only narrowly beaten behind a nice type last start and she will derive plenty of benefit from the run.
The Brad Widdup-trained filly has placed at her last six starts and although becoming expensive for punters, she shouldn’t have lost admirers.
She faces another tough field but put her in the mix.
Race 6. (14:35) Tab Long May We Play BM78 (1500m)
#2 – Night of Power @ $6 – Bet Now
Value is with Night of Power, which has been only moderate in two runs back from a spell but he owns plenty of upside.
The Bjorn Baker-trained five-year-old gets every chance off the inside draw and he could live up to his potential now.
The favourite is too short so go with Night of Power.
Race 7. (15:15) Winter Stakes (1400m)
#4 – Trumbull @ $4.20 – Bet Now
Trumbull showed his true class when scoring a one-length win at Rosehill. He settled much closer than he had been in recent efforts, so expect similar tactics.
Kim Waugh might have figured out the trick with this six-time winner that loves racing on this surface.
$4.20 is a good price from bookmakers and he could go back-to-back.
Race 8. (15:55) Iron Jack BM88 (1200m)
#11 – Kordia @ $2.90 – Bet Now
Kordia looks a nice type in the making following three consecutive wins. The James Cummings-trained gelding won by over a length last start and he is rising through the grades.
He is giving up experience to many of these runners but carrying 54.5kg is ideal and he should be competitive once again.
Expect plenty of money to come his way on race day.
Race 9. (16:35) Rosehill Bowling Club BM78 (1200m)
#1 – Stella Sea Sun @ $6.50 – Bet Now
Kris Lees lines up the four-year-old mare that is coming off a win at Randwick. She scored narrowly at a price and she is good enough to go back-to-back.
It was her fourth win over the 1200m distance and she drops in weight from that win, thanks to the claim from Louise Day.
Each-way odds available and they are worth snapping up.
