Rosehill horse racing tips

Race 1. (11:20) Tab Highway C3 Handicap (1200m)

#3 – So Country – Bet @ Neds

So Country owns three wins and four second placings from seven starts, so we can’t find a reason to jump off his back.

The four-year-old gelding comes off a win at Rosehill against easier opposition but he should rise through the grades without too much trouble.

Race 2. (11:55) Precise Air Handicap (1100m)

#8 – Fashion Legend – Bet @ Neds

Fashion Legend was too good for them at Grafton last start and he looks good enough to win again.

Despite drawing a wide barrier, the Freedman-trained son of Deep Field beat a good field last start and he only needs a touch of luck.

Punters should expect each-way odds.

Race 3. (12:30) Midway BM72 (1300m)

#7 – Bartoselli @ $6.50 – Bet @ Neds

Bartoselli is getting close to posting a win after two solid starts this preparation, including a second placing at Rosehill last start.

The John Thompson-trained gelding owns a win and five placings from eight starts, so he has the class to kick on with it.

The odds available are worth snapping up before they shorten.

Race 4. (13:05) ATC Thank You Owners BM78 (1800m)

#5 – Yggdrasil @ $6.50 – Bet @ Neds

We liked the win from Yggdrasil last start at Rosehill and she could remain unbeaten on the track.

The four-year-old daughter of Sacred Falls scored by 1.3 lengths, and although dropping in distance is interesting, she could handle it.

William Pike rides and punters get value each-way odds.

Race 5. (13:40) NSW Trophy BM72 (1100m)

#7 – Shades of Rose @ $2.70 – Bet @ Neds

Shades of Rose had no luck at Rosehill last start when finishing a game second, so she’s worth sticking with.

The Bjorn Baker-trained filly bucked the start prior, so she’s not getting all favours this campaign and we expect that to change.

James McDonald rides and we like the odds available.

Race 6. (14:15) ATC Thank U Stable Staff BM72 (1300m)

#1 – Kanazawa – Bet @ Neds

Kanazawa capped off consistent form with a win at Randwick last start and it came easily by two lengths.

The James Cummings-trained three-year-old owns two wins and three placings from seven starts, so he hasn’t done anything wrong.

Getting 1.5kg off his back is a bonus and we fancy his chances.

Race 7. (14:50) Special Shelby Sixtysix BM78 (1800m)

#9 – Kirkeby @ $7.50 – Bet @ Neds

Kirkeby has yet to win this preparation but we’re giving the Chris Waller-trained runner another chance.

The four-year-old gelding comes off a second placing at Rosehill and he went down fighting, which is a good sign.

McDonald rides and the odds are juicy.

Race 8. (15:30) ATC Found Winter Challenge (1500m)

#12 – Cross Talk @ $3.30 – Bet @ Neds

The former Kiwi owns four wins and two placings from six starts. He won at Randwick last start by 3.8 lengths and that was a statement performance.

He is perfectly weighted at 53kg and we’re not surprised by the early money coming his way after opening at $3.50.

We expect him to settle handy and fight out the finish.

Race 9. (16:10) Bill Picken OAM BM94 (1100m)

#7 – Easy Single @ $3.90 – Bet @ Neds

Easy Single was favourite last week when the races were called off, so we’re not jumping off his back.

The Melbourne-based runner looked good winning fresh up before placing in consecutive runs. Dropping to 54kg is ideal and his odds should shorten.

We see his odds firming to around $3 on race day.

Race 10. (16:50) ATC Thank You Trainers BM78 (1300m)

#10 – Sur La Mer – Bet @ Neds

Sur La Mer hasn’t done much wrong this season, including back-to-back wins at Warwick Farm.

She then ran second at Rosehill last start and it’s good to see Hugh Bowman riding off the inside barrier.

We expect each-way odds on race day.
