Rosehill horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:35) Alabama Express @ Yulong BM74 (1400m)
#1 – Frosty Rocks @ $2.90 – Bet Now
Frosty Rocks has won two of his last three starts and he couldn’t have been any more impressive last time out.
The Bjorn Baker-trained gelding scored by 8.3 lengths in a one-sided display at Warwick Farm. He has bigger wins in store and with Nash Rawiller in the saddle, expect another tidy effort.
Race 2. (12:10) Tab Highway C2 Handicap (1400m)
#18 – Dream Runner – Bet Now
Dream Runner is unbeaten after two starts at Canberra and he is a good chance of remaining unbeaten.
The three-year-old gelding scored by 2.5 lengths on debut before doubling down and winning by 1.3 lengths last time out.
Drawing barrier 12 shouldn’t be too problematic against this field so consider.
Race 3. (12:45) Coolmore Stayer’s Cup (3200m)
#2 – Ablaze – Bet Now
Ablaze has rattled off five consecutive wins and although those have come over the jumps, this race is over two miles.
The Maher/Eustace-trained gelding scored by eight lengths last start and he is unbeaten in two starts over this distance, so he demands respect.
James McDonald is an interesting rider so keep him safe.
Race 4. (13:20) Rosehill Bowling Club BM78 (1800m)
#12 – Zing – Bet Now
Zing has turned the corner her last two starts and she could continue her winning form. The Chris Waller-trained filly scored narrowly at Warwick Farm where she made good ground in the straight.
This is an obvious rise in class but dropping to 53.5kg is ideal and she gets the services of Kerrin McEvoy in the saddle.
There is plenty to like about her chances in this grade.
Race 5. (13:55) De Bortoli Wines BM94 (1100m)
#1 – Time To Reign – Bet Now
Time To Reign is a speedy customer that should enjoy the conditions. The Gary Portelli-trained colt is a three-time winner from seven starts and he has faced tough fields to date.
He has been primed with a 2.5-length trial win at Warwick Farm and he should be wound up and ready to fire fresh up.
Watch the betting for any late moves coming his way.
Race 6. (14:30) Iron Jack McKell Cup (2000m)
#10 – Frankley Awesome @ $31 – Bet Now
We are taking the big odds around Frankley Awesome, which has been disappointing this campaign. The Kris Lees-trained mare finished behind White Boots and Attention Run, but the break could have done it some good.
She owns placings behind Pohutukawa and Verry Elleegant, which is Group 1 form and that has to count for something.
She is at long odds and rightfully so, but she is a value runner.
Race 7. (15:10) Drinkwise Civic Stakes (1350m)
#1 – Home of the Brave @ $4 – Bet Now
The form of Home of the Brave stacks up nicely for this race after running third at Flemington last time out.
He is a Cummings-trained eight-year-old that needs a win to break the $1 million barrier and he could get it.
He owns the class edge over this field and the $4 is worth taking.
Race 8. (15:50) Tab Long May We Play BM78 (1500m)
#3 – Word For Word – Bet Now
Word For Word scored an overdue win at Rosehill last time out and she could kick on with it.
The Waller-trained daughter of So You Think is always positively backed and she has finished in the money in 10 of her 16 career starts.
She owns a win on this track and punters should get each-way odds.
Race 9. (16:30) Hyland Eofy Sale BM78 (1200m)
#13 – Switched – Bet Now
Switched is running out of chances but she continues to run well and do her connections proud.
The Brad Widdup-trained three-year-old ran third behind Outback Diva last start and she gets a light weight once again.
She carries 54kg and another positive run is expected.
