We have expert betting tips for the card this Saturday at Rosehill that features nine quality betting races.
It is stakes racing throughout the day at Rosehill and we have our best value bets for every race.
Rosehill horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:35) Tab Highway Handicap (1500m)
#9 – Shelby Sixtysix – Bet Now
Shelby Sixtysix is searching for three consecutive wins after winning at Wagga. The three-year-old won easily by three lengths and he looks like a natural Highway Handicap type.
The Danny Williams stable has had plenty of success in this race and Shelby Sixtysix might be the next cab off the rank.
Race 2. (12:10) Segenhoe Stud BM78 (2400m)
#11 – He Runs Away – Bet Now
He Runs Away was scheduled to run midweek at Warwick Farm, so it’s a good sign to see him line up here.
The Chris Waller-trained import is a former Hong Kong runner that produced a much better effort when second last start.
54kg on the back is ideal so keep it safe.
Race 3. (12:45) Yarraman Park Woodlands Stakes (1100m)
#8 – Newsreader – Bet Now
We were taken by the run of Newsreader on debut and although this is a big rise in class, she has upside.
The John O’Shea-trained filly hit the line impressively to run third and punters should be able to get value odds.
Any one of 10 runners could win this race, so expect a competitive affair.
Race 4. (13:20) Inglis 3YO Guineas (1400m)
#4 – Masked Crusader @ $1.80 – Bet Now
Masked Crusader was mightily impressive last week when scoring by three lengths. The Hawkes-trained gelding wasn’t even touched by jockey Tommy Berry, so he could have won by more.
In terms of upside, it doesn’t get much better than Masked Crusader. He’s heading to the top and although this is a hot field, he’s the class act.
$1.80 is worth taking and he could firm into $1.50.
Race 5. (13:55) Vinery Stud BM78 (1100m)
#9 – Adelong – Bet Now
The Brad Widdup-trained mare won her first three starts and then second at her next two. She didn’t lose any admirers last start behind Lesage and she’s a nice type.
The form of Lesage hasn’t held up since, but Adelong was always going to need the run. She’s capable of beating this quality field and carrying 55kg helps.
James McDonald rides and that should drive the price down a touch.
Race 6. (14:35) Luskin Star Stakes (1300m)
#1 – Graff – Bet Now
We’re giving Graff one more chance to impress after running fourth fresh up. He was only a half-length behind Tactical Advantage and that should be the best form race.
The Kris Lees-trained runner has won over $1 million on the track and that shouldn’t be overlooked against this opposition.
Stick with him for another run.
Race 7. (15:15) Coolmore Denise’s Joy Stakes (1100m)
#1 – Wayupinthesky – Bet Now
The Snowden-trained three-year-old finished second behind Rubisaki last start and that’s hot form for this race.
She owns three wins from nine starts and drawing the inside barrier should be a positive for this run. It should allow her to use her natural speed and kick up close to the pace.
It’s a hot field but she represents punters with a value chance.
Race 8. (15:55) Emirates Park Dark Jewel Classic (1400m)
#9 – Dyslexic @ $9 – Bet Now
Dyslexic can be tough to follow but she’s coming off a Group 3 placing and that shouldn’t be overlooked.
The five-year-old hasn’t won for a long time, and that’s the concern, but her best form comes at Randwick. She has won once and placed four times on this track, so keep her safe.
$9 is worth taking and she could cause a minor upset.
Race 9. (16:35) Arrowfield Ortensia Stakes (1100m)
#12 – Dirty Work – Bet Now
Dirty Work has gone to another level this preparation with back-to-back wins. The Hawkes-trained three-year-old won at Randwick on both occasions and he put them away with ease.
He won by 2.3 lengths earlier this month and although facing an easier field, he gets 54kg on his back and he jumps from the inside draw.
Each-way odds should be offered by bookmakers.
