Rosehill horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:30) Darley Handicap (1100m)
#1 – Anders @ $3.20 – Bet Now
Anders won a good race at Wyong last start when beating Sharpshooter and that form stacks up well for this race.
The Maher/Eustace-trained colt gets the services of James McDonald and despite drawing barrier eight, he should get a good run.
Watch the market for any big late moves.
Race 2. (12:05) Tab Highway Handicap (1400m)
#6 – Leg Work – Bet Now
Not everything went right for Leg Work last start but he’s worth giving another chance. The Danny Williams-trained gelding won his two starts prior and in impressive fashion.
He’s best when given time to launch down the outside, so drawing barrier 11 could work right into his hands.
Race 3. (12:40) Magna Grecia @ Coolmore BM74 (1200m)
#7 – Hulk – Bet Now
The break has enabled Hulk to turn the corner and focus on winning. The Waller-trained gelding resumed with a 1.5-length win at Randwick and it bodes well for his future.
He has always promised to go to the next level and having finished in the money in nine of his 13 starts, he has consistency.
Drawing barrier 11 shouldn’t be a worry as he has good barrier speed.
Race 4. (13:15) Schweppes BM88 (1500m)
#11 – Soldier of Love – Bet Now
The Bjorn Baker-trained gelding was too good for them last start. He won by a long neck at Randwick and he defeated a handy field in the process.
Rising to BM88 level shouldn’t worry him too much and he’s helped by the drop in weight. He goes down to 55kg with Rachel King riding and that could make the difference.
Expect each-way odds from bookmakers.
Race 5. (13:55) Trapaze Artist @ Widden BM88 (1200m)
#8 – Fituese @ $1.60 – Bet Now
Fituese runs at short odds but she’s flying this campaign. The three-year-old scored by 2.8 lengths two starts back and followed it up with a 1.3-length win last start.
It’s tough to overlook that form and we’re not surprised at the odds-on quote. It reflects her ability and her third consecutive win is on the card.
Race 6. (14:30) Tab Long May We Play BM78 (1400m)
#11 – Bound to Win – Bet Now
The Snowden-trained filly has three wins from six starts and she looked the goods when winning at Warwick Farm last start.
She sat well off the pace and came with a big run late. It bodes well for the rest of the season and she has been freshened up for this race.
The inside draw should ensure a good run throughout.
Race 7. (15:10) Lord Mayors Cup (2000m)
#18 – Bottega @ $3.60 – Bet Now
Bottega flashed home to win at Randwick last start and he gets many things in his favour for this run.
The Gerald Ryan-trained colt drops from 59.5kg to 54kg and drawing wide isn’t going to worry him. He is going to get back in the run regardless and rising to 2000m is ideal.
His opening odds of $4.20 have already been taken.
Race 8. (15:50) Exceedance @ Vinery BM78 (1300m)
#15 – Bergen – Bet Now
Bergen should pay nice odds with bookmakers but he represents value. The four-year-old gelding is unbeaten from three starts over this distance and he could get back to winning form.
He has been primed with two trials efforts and although those weren’t flash, he wasn’t asked to do much.
The son of Your Song looks well-placed as a value option.
Race 9. (16:30) Iron Jack BM78 (1100m)
#4 – Broken Arrows – Bet Now
Broken Arrows made a good impression fresh up last start and he’s only going to improve with time.
He ran third behind Adelong after getting miles off the speed. His effort in the straight was commendable and he owns second-up form.
Drawing barrier four helps and it could result in a win.
