Nitro scored one of the more impressive debuts we’ve seen in recent times, at least at the midweek level.
The Peter Snowden-trained son of Deep Field had no right to win at Warwick Farm, but he showed an elite turn-of-foot to run down the leaders.
If he is anywhere close to that, she should beat this field.

Miss Lola is threatening to break maidens after placing in her last two runs at Warwick Farm, which is good form for this race.
The Chris Waller-trained filly by Blue Point went close behind Swift Legend last start, and getting out to 1400m should only help.
Barrier 13 isn’t ideal, but she has time to find cover with Jason Collett riding.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Not much went the way of Artgirl on debut, and although punters were left licking their wounds, she is a runner worth following.
The three-year-old filly showed that she has something to learn, but we love the way she found the line at Wyong, which was the most encouraging part.
She’s in good hands with Waller, so expect her to break maidens very soon.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Empress of Japan showed good speed when running second at Hawkesbury, and that should be a good enough form guide.
The four-year-old mare by Savabeel was game to the line when running behind Diamond Show. This is her first run at Rosehill, but having Collett riding is a bonus.
She’s worth including in horse racing picks at the odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
Climb the Ladder is better than what his recent form suggests, so we’re giving him another chance.
The Waller-trained gelding ran fourth in two runs at Sandown before coming to Sydney and running fifth at Warwick Farm behind Baltorf, who raced on Saturday.
It’s a strong form race, so we’re putting him in our picks.
Stake: 1 Unit
Coming off a good run on Golden Eagle Day is Strawberry Impact, who should enjoy running at midweek level on Wednesday.
The four-year-old son of Pierata owns a win and six second placings from 10 starts, so he often finds one better, but we’re not too concerned.
Tim Clark rides, so he should go forward and be tough to run down.
Stake: 2 Units
Theblade is a runner that punters keep following without success, but we’re going to the well again at Rosehill.
He has more talent than most at this level, and his run behind Golden Straand was good enough last start. However, he shouldn’t be running in BM72, and when he learns to put it all together, he could be a stakes type.
If he can’t win here, we’ll have to jump off his back.
