We have expert betting tips for the card this Wednesday at Rosehill that features seven quality betting races.
Premier midweek racing returns to Rosehill and we have our best value bets at the ready.
Rosehill horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (14:00) Harry Angel @ Darley Maiden (1100m)
#3 – Calgary Stampede @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
It’s a tough maiden field but Calgary Stampede has done enough to suggest he can make a winning debut.
The Snowden-trained two-year-old son of Snitzel finished third in both trials to date at Randwick and Rosehill, so that form should be good enough.
Drawing barrier two is ideal and the early betting support is a good sign.
Race 2. (14:35) Vinery Stud Maiden (1400m)
#11 – Tavi L’amour @ $7 – Bet @ Sportsbet
John O’Shea lines up the three-year-old filly, who is better than what she showed at Newcastle last time out.
The daughter of Tavistock finished second on debut at Canterbury, so that is a much better form guide for punters to use.
$7 is well worth taking for a potentially classy type.
Race 3. (15:10) Precise Fire BM68 (1200m)
#11 – Comrade Rosa @ $4.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
We were impressed with Comrade Rosa’s debut win at Kembla Grange. She hit the line powerfully down centre track and she can rise through the grades.
The Chris Waller-trained filly has James McDonald in the saddle, and although Shihonka has more exposed form, she could be the better filly.
We’re happy with the $4.50 available with bookmakers.
Race 4. (15:45) Tab BM72 (1500m)
#8 – Niffler @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Niffler scored on debut at Kembla Grange for Waller, so he could have another smart type on his hands.
The four-year-old mare won by just under a length and she has since won a trial at Warwick Farm. That form should be good enough to see her compete at this level.
It’s another good ride for McDonald and with only 54.5kg on her back, Niffler should be the testing material.
Race 5. (16:20) Ranvet BM72 (1800m)
#4 – Atlantic King @ $9 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Value is with Atlantic King, who turned around his form to record a win at Randwick last time out.
The Matthew Dunn-trained five-year-old defeated Jojo Was A Man, so that form bodes well for this race and he could repeat the dose.
Barrier 13 is why his odds are long, but he has time to find cover and we’re expecting him to be right in the thick of it.
Race 6. (16:55) ACY Securities BM72 (1500m)
#5 – Too Much Caviar @ $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Too Much Caviar hasn’t done much wrong from five career starts, including two wins and two second placings.
The four-year-old son of All Too Hard comes off a win at Randwick by 1.3 lengths, and a repeat of that effort would be good enough.
He placed at his only start at Rosehill, so we’re liking his chances and there is good betting support for Wednesday’s race.
Race 7. (17:30) XXXX BM72 (1300m)
#11 – Zarastro @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Zarastro was strong to the line when scoring a one-length win at Canterbury and we like his chances of kicking on with it.
The three-year-old colt ran second behind Paulele on debut, who has since run well at Group 1 level. We loved that form and the son of I Am Invincible could rise through the grades.
$3 is a fair price from bookmakers and the McDonald/Waller combination could end the day on a high.
