Rosehill horse racing tips
Race 1. (15:10) Sky Racing Active Maiden (1800m)
#5 – Regulation @ $2.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
James Cummings lines up the three-year-old gelding that has placed in both career starts to date.
The son of Contributer finished second on debut at Newcastle before running third at Kembla Grange against a tough field.
He didn’t quite handle the heavy track last start, but he battled away and that bodes well for this contest. Having James McDonald in the saddle adds to his appeal.
Race 2. (15:50) Bowermans Furniture Maiden (1400m)
#2 – Kiku @ $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Kiku looks set to breakthrough soon after three starts for three placings. The Waller-trained filly was only a length behind the winner at Randwick last start, so that experience helps.
Her best run to date was a third placing behind Bellevue Star and Elizabeel. That form has since stacked up beautifully and she only needs luck to beat this field.
$2.50 is a fair price and it’s another good ride for McDonald.
Race 3. (16:30) Impending @ Darley BM68 (1200m)
#2 – Saffiano @ $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Saffiano showed mixed ability during his first campaign but he could put his best foot forward on Friday.
The three-year-old son of More Than Ready scored a win at his second career start and his trial form has been solid since.
A change in stables could also switch him back on and his lone career win came at Rosehill, so he’s familiar with the surface.
Race 4. (17:10) Tab BM72 (1800m)
#1 – Express Courier @ $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Express Courier wasn’t disgraced when running fifth at Rosehill last start and he didn’t get all favours throughout the run.
The five-year-old gelding is a professional six-time winner that looked good when winning at Canberra by 2.8 lengths last month.
With Nash Rawiller in the saddle from barrier two, punters should expect a positive effort at a value price.
Race 5. (17:50) Wsabe BM72 (1500m)
#9 – Traminer @ $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Traminer looks set for another top performance after notching three consecutive placings. He scored a win on debut and there has been little wrong with his form since.
Peter and Paul Snowden line up the lightly-tried six-year-old that took time to get to the races, but that patience has paid off.
His run for second behind Stolen Jade last start was good and it is another quality ride for James McDonald.
Race 6. (18:25) Vinery BM72 (1500m)
#6 – Amica @ $13 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Amica is coming off a win at Hawkesbury and where she carried 60.5kg, so dropping in weight is ideal.
The four-year-old owns three wins from eight starts overall, and she is unbeaten from two starts over this distance.
It’s not an easy field on Friday, but punters are getting value double-figure odds and they are worth taking.
Race 7. (19:05) Iron Jack BM72 (1300m)
#8 – Rammstein @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The son of Snitzel has made a positive start to his career after posting two wins and two placings from eight starts.
He scored a win at Kembla Grange to get his campaign off on the right foot and he has since posted a trial win on this track.
Drawing barrier two is ideal for this runner and punters get attractive odds.
