Rosehill horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (12:45) Adam Gardner Fund Journey BM78 (2400m)
#3 – Parry Sound @ $2.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Parry Sound has looked good winning his last two starts and he deserves a chance in this grade.
The John O’Shea-trained five-year-old is bred to be good and he dug deep to score at Randwick last time out.
His odds are likely to remain firm throughout the week.
Race 2. (13:20) Tab Highway Handicap C3 (1500m)
#1 – Wichita Warrior @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Wichita Warrior won’t have it easy from barrier 16 but he is a professional winner of three from seven starts.
His most recent effort was a solid run behind Demonstrate at Canberra, and we are expecting that form to hold up nicely.
Luck will be needed from the draw but he is classy at best.
Race 3. (13:55) Quincy Seltzer BM78 (1500m)
#2 – Dancing Gidget @ $4.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
A winner of four from 13 starts, Dancing Gidget is a quality mare that could run over the odds in this race.
The Chris Waller-trained daughter of Al Maher ran fifth behind Bombasay at Randwick and we are expecting that form to hold up.
She does get back in the run, but there looks to be enough pace up front to suit.
Race 4. (14:35) Drinkwise Country Classic (2000m)
#1 – Express Courier @ $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Express Courier owns six wins from 17 starts and he is unbeaten in two starts at this distance. The Dryden-trained gelding won easily at Canberra last start and that bodes well.
He scored by 2.8 lengths and despite rising in class for this race, he has a big future and is still getting better.
Tom Sherry takes 2kg off his back and he is riding in confident form.
Race 5. (15:15) Kia BM78 (1800m)
#2 – Stockman @ $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Stockman didn’t fire fresh up at Randwick but he quickly returned to form when running second at Rosehill last start.
The four-year-old son of Tavistock is a four-time winner from 10 starts and he has many more wins in store this season.
$4.80 is a value price and those odds should firm throughout the week.
Race 7. (16:35) Hyland Colours Hot Danish Stakes (1400m)
#2 – Madam Rouge @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Madam Rouge was a game winner at Caulfield last start and although facing another tough field, she can handle the pressure.
Trained by Chris Waller, the five-year-old mare has yet to fire in three starts at Rosehill, but her confidence has grown this season.
$5.50 is a price worth taking and she should go well.
Race 8. (17:20) Iron Jack BM78 (1300m)
#11 – Promotions @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
James Cummings lines up the four-year-old gelding which is coming off a second placing at Randwick.
He finished only 1.3 lengths behind Enchanted Heart and that form has since been franked at a high level.
He has been well-backed to win and we’re not surprised.
Race 9. (18:00) Chandon BM78 (1300m)
#10 – Willowheart @ $8.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Willowheart isn’t the most consistent runner going around but the Waller-trained mare is talented on her day.
The daughter of I Am Invincible finished eighth last start but she looked much better when winning earlier this season.
Anything close to that effort would be enough to see her fighting out the finish.
