We have expert betting tips for racing at Sale on Sunday, which includes eight races at the weekend meeting.

Race 1. (12:45) Ladbrokes Owner Promotions Maiden (1100m)

#10 – Thalestris @ $2.50

Thalestris wasn’t far away when third last time out at Geelong, and she should have strengthened nicely with the spell.

The three-year-old filly by I Am Invincible gets all favours from the run, and there has been good betting support since markets opened.

It could pay to follow the money.

Race 2. (13:20) Laurels Function Centre Book Now Maiden (1200m)

#4 – Nielson Park @ $4.60

Nielson Park had his chances to post a win last preparation, but we’re giving him another chance.

The three-year-old son of Zoustar ran fifth at Mornington last time out, which is a tidy form guide, so we’re hoping for something similar.

Money has come for him, which is an ideal guide.

Race 3. (13:55) Thank You Members & Sponsors Maiden (1400m)

#2 – Overcast @ $2.00

Overcast ran solidly for third on debut at Seymour, and he doesn’t need to improve too much to score a win.

The three-year-old son of Time Test ran at $16 odds, and although the odds are skinny, he’s worth including in picks.

His odds could firm to around $1.80 on race day.

Race 4. (14:25) Carlton Draught Maiden (1717m)

#2 – Ballistic Romeo @ $1.60

Ballistic Romeo hasn’t been an easy runner to follow, but he shouldn’t take much longer to score a win.

The Jason Warren-trained gelding ran second two back at Pakenham in heavy conditions, so he won’t mind the soft track.

This isn’t a tough field, so look for him to break maidens at short odds.

Race 5. (14:55) Sale Turf Club Foundation Handicap (1717m)

#5 – Grand Sage @ $7.50

Grand Sage has a good chance of going back-to-back after scoring at Sale, where he owns two wins and four placings.

The five-year-old son of Santos won by a half-length and getting 3kg off his back could be enough to see him win again.

He’s worth including at the each-way odds.

Race 6. (15:25) Programmed Property Services BM62 (1200m)

#4 – Cavern @ $4.00

Cavern showed good speed to win on debut at Bendigo before taking on tough company in two subsequent runs.

The three-year-old son of Brazen Beau ran fourth at Caulfield Mr Magnus, so that was a good field, and it should hold him in good stead.

His recent trial placing was nice, so put him on top.

Race 7. (15:55) Elliman Property BM62 (1400m)

#3 – Befuddle @ $5.00

Befuddle wasn’t far away when posting back-to-back placings at Sandown, and that form should hold up well for this race.

The three-year-old filly by Hanseatic didn’t fire at Mornington last start, but she could rebound nicely with 4kg coming off her back.

Race 8. (16:26) Ladbrokes Odds Surge BM66 (1000m)

#4 – Cabriole @ $1.95

Shooting for back-to-back wins is Cabriole, who won at Geelong by 5.5 lengths in fine fashion last time out.

The three-year-old gelding by Lonhro is bred to be good, and the Godolphin runner has plenty of upside at this level.

The $1.95 is worth including in horse racing multis.
