Sandown horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:00) Ladbrokes Odds Boost Maiden (1500m)
#2 – Horrifying @ $2.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Horrifying wasn’t far away when fifth fresh up at Sandown and that form looks ideal for this contest.
The Kavanagh-trained three-year-old owns three placings from seven starts and although yet to win, he looks set to breakthrough soon.
The $2.20 is a fair price from bookmakers.
Race 2. (13:35) Ive Print Maiden Plate (1000m)
#6 – Oryx @ $3.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Punters should always respect a debutante from the James Cummings stable and Oryx looks a nice type in the making.
The two-year-old colt by Exceed and Excel owns a trial placing and he is bred to find form early in his career.
Damien Oliver rides and that should give punters confidence.
Race 3. (14:10) Clanbrooke Racing C1 Handicap (1300m)
#10 – Always In Moment @ $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Coming off a win at Pakenham is Always In Moment, which could be a progressive filly for Mick Kent.
The daughter of No Nay Never reeled in the field last start to score by 3.5 lengths and it was a dominant display.
Punters should expect something similar this time around and a good price is available with bookies.
Race 4. (14:45) The Big Screen Company BM64 (1300m)
#3 – Beau Rossa @ $2.45 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Beau Rossa was too strong for them at Morphettville last start and we’re expecting that form to hold up nicely.
The three-year-old scored by 1.5 lengths going away from the field and he looks good enough to handle the level of opposition.
Jamie Kah rides from barrier three and he should get a dream run.
Race 5. (15:20) Ladbroke It BM78 (1000m)
#6 – Heka Express @ $7 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Heka Express comes off two wins from her last three starts and we’re not overlooking that form.
The four-year-old mare scored a win on this track three back before returning to form with a half-length win at Cranbourne.
Lachlan King takes 2kg off his back and punters get generous odds.
Race 6. (16:00) Ladbrokes Easy Form BM70 (1400m)
#6 – Sirileo Miss @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
That was a powerful win from Sirileo Miss at Sandown last start and she looks capable of going back-to-back.
The Symon Wilde-trained three-year-old got past a talented field by 2.3 lengths and the 3kg claim brings her right into contention.
Barrier three is ideal and she should start as the firm favourite.
Race 7. (16:40) Ladbrokes Blended Multi BM70 (1400m)
#9 – Dirty Deeds @ $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The four-year-old owns two wins from 11 starts and he has been threatening to win a race this preparation.
He is a son of Dundeel that has been competing against tough fields, including running fourth behind Regardsmaree at Caulfield in January.
Barrier two is ideal and he’s going to get every chance to return to winning form.
Race 8. (17:20) Ladbrokes Odds Exotic BM70 (1600m)
#5 – Excelleration @ $1.95 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Excelleration has plenty of it after winning two of his three starts. He showed a fine turn-of-foot when scoring at Sandown last start, which bodes well for his future.
The 2.8-length win came with 60kg on his back and that’s not easy to do. He gets in with 59.5kg and he can handle the rise in class.
$1.95 could quickly shorten on race day, so lock in the price.
