Sandown horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (15:40) Ladbroke It Maiden (1200m)

#7 – Award Me @ $3.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Danny O’Brien-trained filly hasn’t been seen in public but there has been solid betting support since markets opened.

She is a well-bred daughter of Shamus Award who carries famous colours and having Jamie Kah in the saddle is a bonus.

Punters get $3.90 and that’s a fair price for a potentially nice type.

Race 2. (16:15) Ladbrokes Switch BM64 (1300m)

#4 – Cherrypick @ $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Cherrypick looks to have the class edge over this field and punters can still get value odds.

The Peter Moody-trained three-year-old has finished in the money in four of her five starts, so she has yet to put a foot wrong.

She gets the inside draw with a 3kg claimer, so the $3.80 is worth taking.

Race 3. (16:50) Ladbrokes Bet Ticker BM64 (2400m)

#6 – Annunciate @ $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Annunciate comes off five consecutive placings and the experienced gelding is knocking on the door.

The Hyland-trained son of All Too Hard owns six wins and 23 placings from 63 starts, so he has been around the block a few times.

Getting a 2kg claimer to ride is ideal and we’re giving him another chance.

Race 4. (17:25) Ladbrokes Blended Bets BM64 (1600m)

#1 – Green Belt @ $2.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Green Belt is an American-bred son of Declaration of War who made a big impression on debut.

The three-year-old colt scored emphatically by 3.8 lengths as the odds-on favourite, so punters get better odds this time around.

Jamie Kah takes the ride and the $2.30 is well worth snapping up before it drops.

Race 5. (18:00) Tile Importer BM64 (1200m)

#8 – Murrami Express @ $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Murrami Express went close at Sandown last start and we like his chances of going one better.

The Danny O’Brien-trained son of Shamexpress owns a win and four placings from seven starts, so he’s always around the mark.

Punters have been getting impatient, but with Kah in the saddle, she should get the best out of him.

Race 6. (18:30) Stud & Stable Staff Awards BM64 (2100m)

#2 – Gate Crash @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Gate Crash has yet to finish worse than third from four career starts, so the four-year-old is worth following.

The Patrick Payne-trained four-year-old won by just under a length last start and having winning experience at Sandown is a bonus.

Alana Kelly takes 2kg off his back and he should relish the rise in distance.

Race 7. (19:00) Ladbrokes Same Race Multi BM64 (1400m)

#6 – Logan Street Lion @ $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Logan Street Lion was heavily backed when finishing second at Sandown and we’re sticking with the talented type.

The Chris Waller-trained son of Tavistock won on debut before running three excellent races and it’s only a matter of time before he wins again.

Staying at 1400m should suit and punters get odds worth taking.

Race 8. (19:30) Ladbrokes Withdrawals BM70 (1600m)

#1 – Eluding @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Eluding looked good scoring back-to-back wins to start its campaign and its recent form has been solid enough.

The McEvoy-trained five-year-old son of Toronado is a four-time winner, so we’re surprised by the odds available.

Dropping 3kg with the claim helps and punters should be confident of a big effort.
