Sandown horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (12:25) Ladbrokes C1 Handicap (1400m)

#8 – Scientific @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Scientific comes off a third placing at Sandown and we think that race will be a good form guide.

The three-year-old filly scored on debut before struggling up in grade, but she meets an even field and she could take advantage.

Barrier five is ideal and Jamie Kah takes the ride.

Race 2. (13:00) Ladbrokes Switch BM64 (1800m)

#6 – Murrumbidgee River – Bet @ Sportsbet

The scored easily on debut at Ballarat and the three-year-old could remain unbeaten after two starts.

He is a son of Fiorente that scored by three lengths in a dominant display and although that came on the synthetic, conditions should suit at Sandown.

It’s another good ride for Kah and she only needs luck from the draw.

Race 3. (13:35) Ladbrokes Blended Multi BM64 (1600m)

#1 – Always in Moment @ $4.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Michael Kent-trained three-year-old has scored two wins from four starts and she scored impressively by 1.8 lengths last start.

She sat on the speed and kicked away at the top of the straight, so we’re surprised that she’s not the favourite to win.

$4.40 is a value price and she will get a good run from barrier three.

Race 4. (14:10) Ladbrokes Same Race Multi BM64 (1300m)

#3 – Citaleon @ $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The three-year-old son of Jimmy Creed was impressive on debut at Moe and conditions are similar this time around.

He scored by 1.8 lengths on the heavy track and the 3kg claimer in the saddle is a bonus. It should make him tough to beat and we expect his debut win to stack up nicely.

$2.80 is a fair price and he has upside in the winter.

Race 5. (14:45) MRC Membership Renewal BM70 (1600m)

#1 – Café Tortoni @ $8 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Punters always get value odds for Café Tortoni and it’s the same situation on Wednesday at Sandown.

The five-year-old gelding comes off a win at Swan Hill and he has yet to finish worse than third from four starts at the distance.

Getting a 3kg claimer in the saddle is ideal and we’ll happily take the $8 available.

Race 6. (15:20) Ladbrokes Easy Form BM78 (1000m)

#5 – Our Musketeer @ $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Our Musketeer isn’t the most consistent sprinter going around, but he’s dangerous at best and punters get value odds this time around.

The three-time winner scored by 1.8 lengths two back at Moe before pulling up with a problem last time out at Mornington. However, he’s capable of bouncing back and 3kg comes off his back.

Carrying 52.5kg is ideal and he could fire to the front and go close.

Race 7. (15:55) Ladbrokes Bet Ticker BM70 (1300m)

#8 – Part Time Lover @ $6.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Part Time Lover wasn’t too far away from them last time out and she hit the line nicely in the straight.

The five-year-old mare is a three-time winner from 25 starts and although yet to win at this distance, she should score soon.

It’s another good ride for Jamie Kah and she won’t have to do much work off an inside barrier. Take the $6 as those odds should shorten on race day.

Race 8. (16:30) 2unitspodcast BM70 (1300m)

#8 – Loveplanet @ $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Loveplanet is shooting for three consecutive wins after scoring at Yarra Glen and Moonee Valley last preparation.

The three-year-old son of Ocean Park scored easily by 2.5 lengths last time out and winning at The Valley as an odds-on favourite is a good betting guide.

Barrier 13 doesn’t make it easy but he looked good in a recent jumpout and the early betting signs are good.
