Sandown horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (12:25) Ladbroke It Handicap (1300m)

#1 – Birdies Galore @ $2.50 – Bet @ PlayUp

Birdies Galore has been excellent in winning two starts and the well-named filly could remain unbeaten.

The Patrick Payne-trained daughter of Spieth won on debut at Warracknabeal on debut before winning at Morphettville, so the class is there.

She is a tidy filly in the making and getting the inside draw should be enough to see her right in the thick of the finish.

Race 2. (13:00) Ladbrokes Switch BM78 (2400m)

#5 – Insulation @ $2.20 – Bet @ PlayUp

Peter Moody lines up the three-year-old gelding who won easily on debut at Sale.

The son of Intello scored by 3.3 lengths in dominant fashion and we expect that form to continue on Wednesday.

Punters get value odds and jumping from barrier three is ideal, so put him in the mix at the $2.20 price.

Race 3. (13:35) Ladbrokes Easy Form BM70 (1600m)

#1 – Literary Magnate @ $2.40 – Bet @ PlayUp

Literary Magnate is better than a one-win filly and she gets a field there for the taking.

The Williams-trained three-year-old ran second at Sandown three back before going close at Flemington in two subsequent runs.

She was a length behind Jimmy the Bear last start and that form stacks up perfectly for this level of racing.

Race 4. (14:10) Ladbrokes Odds Boost BM70 (1000m)

#6 – Sugartown @ $4 – Bet @ PlayUp

Sugartown hasn’t won for some time but she’s classy and her best form could be shown on Wednesday.

The four-year-old mare owns two wins and seven placings from 11 starts and she has yet to finish out of the money at the distance.

Damien Oliver rides and she could cap off consistent form with a win.

Race 5. (14:45) Ladbrokes Same Race Multi BM70 (1400m)

#2 – Our Modena @ $8 – Bet @ PlayUp

Our Modena scored a win at Mildura last start and the confidence boost could see her form continue.

The five-year-old daughter of Tavistock pulled up with thumps, so the win had even more credibility, so she goes on top here.

Barrier two and getting a 3kg claimer in the saddle helps.

Race 6. (15:20) Ladbrokes Mega Multi BM70 (1800m)

#1 – Fifth Position @ $7.50 – Bet @ PlayUp

Fifth Position looked good when running third at Sandown and he could score a long overdue win.

The six-year-old son of Dark Angel is only a two-time winner from 20 starts, but he also owns eight placings, so he’s never too far away.

3kg comes off his back and punters get odds worth snapping up.

Race 7. (15:55) Tile Importer BM70 (1500m)

#14 – Sunfall @ $8.50 – Bet @ PlayUp

The three-year-old gelding has been facing tough fields throughout his career and he should find this much easier.

He ran third at Sandown two back and he was under a length behind the winner. He followed it up with a sixth at Flemington behind Jimmy the Bear, which is a great form guide.

He’s drawn ideally and the odds are too good to pass up.

Race 8. (16:30) Ive Print BM70 (1300m)

#1 – Here to Shock @ $5 – Bet @ PlayUp

Here to Shock finished his last preparation with a win at Sandown and he could start with a victory this time in.

The Brent Stanley-trained son of Shocking won by 2.5 lengths as a $1.70 chance, so punters getting $5 is a great betting proposition.

Drawing wide with a big weight isn’t ideal but he has more upside than most.
