Sandown horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (12:25) Ladbrokes Odds Boost Exotics (1000m)
#10 – Zesty Belle @ $4.60 – Bet Now
Zesty Belle is a smart two-year-old filly that is coming off a tidy effort at Flemington. The daughter of Denman settled on the pace and finished only 1.3 lengths behind Standoff.
It bodes well for this race as she drops in class and Luke Nolen sticks with her. Money is coming for her and expect that to continue throughout the week.
Race 2. (13:00) Ladbrokes Back Yourself BM64 (1000m)
#3 – The Natural @ $3.40 – Bet Now
The Natural is a well-bred filly by Fastnet Rock that scored her maiden win at Morphettville. She won by 2.8 lengths after leading throughout and she went well last start at The Valley.
She finished second behind Somals and was only a neck from leading all the way. It was a terrific effort and we are surprised that she’s not the $2 favourite.
Money is starting to come so her odds should shorten.
Race 3. (13:35) Clanbrooke Racing BM70 (1600m)
#2 – Walking Flying @ $2.75 – Bet Now
Walking Flying scored an easy kill at Sale last start and she could go back-to-back. She had run in the Schweppes Oaks prior to that effort, so her form comes through some tough races.
The daughter of Tavistock scored by 3.5 lengths last time out and she shouldn’t be too worried about this grade.
$2.75 is a fair price and she should remain steady in the market.
Race 4. (14:10) Ladbrokes Same Race Multi BM70 (1500m)
#7 – Stocktaka @ $5.50 – Bet Now
The four-year-old gelding performed highly at Ballarat last start and he is capable of going one better.
He is a son of Tavistock that has always shown good promise with two wins and two placings from seven starts.
He faces a competitive field here but the inside draw is ideal and the $5.50 is worth taking.
Race 5. (14:45) Ladbrokes BM84 (1800m)
#2 – Savaheat @ $6.50 – Bet Now
Savaheat is a six-time winner that scored a quality win at Flemington two starts back. The five-year-old followed that up with a fourth at Flemington and this is a drop in class.
He gets the services of a handy apprentice and that will help with the allotted 62kg. He is a four-time winner at the distance and a past winner at Sandown.
Bookies have him at each-way odds and they’re worth taking.
Race 6. (15:20) MRC Foundation BM78 (2400m)
#13 – Stellar Impact @ $4 – Bet Now
Stellar Impact is an imported runner that has shown nothing but consistency since arriving in Australia.
Trained by the Waterhouse/Bott team, the five-year-old mare by Deep Impact scored by 2.3 lengths at Cranbourne before running second at Mornington.
She always shows good barrier speed and finding the front from the inside draw won’t be difficult.
Race 7. (15:55) Ladbrokes Switch BM70 (1000m)
#7 – Pinyin @ $3.60 – Bet Now
Pinyin is nearing a win after running third at Flemington last time out and she meets only an even field here.
The four-year-old has finished in the money in 12 of her 15 starts to date, which is a great record and well worth admiration.
She is finding it tough to win races at the moment but she should go close in this race.
Race 8. (16:30) Ladbrokes Cash In BM70 (1300m)
#3 – Falls @ $4.80 – Bet Now
Falls is a classy four-year-old that has three wins and four placings from only eight starts. The Mick Kent-trained runner is coming off a win at Sandown, where he does his best racing.
He made up a stack of ground to score earlier this year and although yet to win fresh up, he has placed in all three fresh runs.
Damien Oliver rides and the $4.80 is a good price from bookmakers.
