Sandown horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (12:25) Ladbrokes Handicap (1400m)
#4 – Chequerboard – Bet Now
The Lindsay Park-trained filly was impressive when winning on debut and she could remain unbeaten.
She scored by just under a length at Pakenham and although facing a harder field here, she is well bred and capable of going back-to-back.
The inside draw is ideal and we’re confident of her chances.
Race 2. (13:00) Clanbrooke Racing BM64 (1300m)
#9 – Stratessa – Bet Now
The three-year-old filly scored a quality maiden win at Pakenham two back and she drops right back in grade for this race.
She won by 2.8 lengths on that occasion and although beaten by 5.3 lengths at Sandown, dropping from BM78 to BM64 is ideal.
Punters should get value odds with this filly.
Race 3. (13:35) MRC Foundation BM70 (1200m)
#1 – Atlantica – Bet Now
Henry Dwyer lines up the five-year-old mare that got back to winning form at Sandown last month.
The daughter of Barbados then raced at Flemington where she finished fourth behind Jamaican Hurry, which has since performed highly.
She carries a big weight but her chances of winning are strong.
Race 4. (14:10) Ladbrokes Back Yourself BM70 (2100m)
#3 – Anything But – Bet Now
Anything But hasn’t given his opposition a look-in of late and that form could continue on Wednesday.
The Mike Moroney-trained four-year-old made steady ground in the straight when winning at Cranbourne and he’ll likely settle closer from the inside draw.
He’s a runner with confidence and punters should continue supporting him.
Race 5. (14:45) Ladbrokes Money Back Odds BM78 (2400m)
#8 – Big Sur – Bet Now
It has been a long time between drinks for Big Sur but the six-year-old has been threatening to win.
The Colin Little-trained gelding ran second at Geelong two back before running third at Sandown last time out. That run should hold him in good stead, despite being a fair way from the winner.
Craig Williams keeps the ride off the inside draw and that should give him confidence.
Race 6. (15:20) Ladbrokes Same Race Multi BM70 (1600m)
#1 – Charleise – Bet Now
Charleise was scratched from racing on Saturday and she’s a much better chance lining up against this opposition.
The Maher/Eustace-trained filly ran second at Flemington last start in a higher grade and that came behind Librate, which is a promising type.
Drawing barrier 13 hurts but she has the clear class edge.
Race 7. (15:55) Ladbrokes Switch BM70 (1600m)
#11 – Mr Stylish – Bet Now
The Phillip Stokes stable gets them ready and Mr Stylish could be ready to win. He scored a win at Pakenham two back before running fifth at Sandown on May 13.
He settled at the back of the field before running on late to finish three lengths behind the winner. There was little wrong with that outing and he gets into this race well.
Look for each-way odds.
Race 8. (16:30) Ladbrokes Cash In BM70 (1400m)
#2 – Hapaira – Bet Now
Hapaira keeps winning and she made it four wins from seven starts at Sandown last start. The Maher/Eustace-trained mare rose in grade and scored by a nose.
It was a tough effort and her form prior came against some smart types. She ran third behind subsequent winner Comte before beating Mrs O’Malley at Echuca.
We think she’ll run another tidy race on Wednesday, so stick with her.
