Sandown horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (15:05) Ladbrokes Switch Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Montana Flash @ $2.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Montana Flash hasn’t shown his best form to date but the two-year-old did finish fourth at Rosehill two starts back.

The Hawkes-trained colt by Star Turn ran only a half-length behind Zethus and subsequent winner Home Affairs, but he didn’t follow it with much.

However, this is an easier field and he could take advantage.

Race 2. (15:40) Thoroughbred Club BM64 (1600m)

#1 – Liqueuro @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

An unbeaten record should never be overlooked and Liqueuro has looked good winning two starts to date.

The three-year-old son of Fiorente scored a debut win at Mornington before scoring a quality win at Flemington last time out.

He is paying more than expected, so take the value available.

Race 3. (16:15) Ladbrokes Back Yourself BM70 (2100m)

#5 – Evader @ $7 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Evader comes off a tough run at Pakenham but punters shouldn’t drop her off that one performance.

The four-year-old mare scored a quality win over 2000m at Donald last preparation and anything close to that run would see her winning on Wednesday.

The inside draw is ideal and she has upside.

Race 4. (16:50) Clanbrooke Racing BM64 (1200m)

#1 – And Beyond @ $4.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

And Beyond has yet to taste defeat from three starts in Tasmania and that form could stack up nicely at this level.

The four-year-old gelding scored by two lengths at Hobart last start and he looks to have more wins on the horizon.

Kyle Maskiell takes 3kg off his back and that brings him into contention.

Race 5. (17:25) Ladbrokes Easy Form BM64 (1200m)

#2 – Charm School @ $4.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Charm School scored an impressive win on debut at Sandown and that’s the best form guide for punters.

The three-year-old filly by Redoute’s Choice won by a length over a quality field and although beaten last start, she faced a steep rise in class.

After opening at $4.80, her odds have been trimmed.

Race 6. (18:00) Tile Importer BM64 (1600m)

#9 – Eagles Crag @ $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The imported son of Fastnet Rock finished ninth on debut at Newmarket before immediately finding form when winning at Pakenham.

He is a four-year-old that scored with ease at Pakenham, winning by 5.8 lengths and a repeat of that effort could be on the cards.

The European runners are too good for midweek company, so he looks like a good bet.

Race 7. (18:30) Ladbrokes Odds Boost BM84 (1600m)

#2 – Mystery Shot @ $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

It wasn’t long ago when Mystery Shot was unbeaten after five starts. The four-year-old has been beaten twice this preparation, but running second behind Regardsmaree is stellar form for a midweek meeting.

He is classy at best and although a touch below where he was last season, he is still good enough to put this field away.

With the 2kg claimer in the saddle, punters get incredible each-way odds.

Race 8. (19:00) MRC Members BM78 (1400m)

#11 – Fighting Harada @ $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Fighting Harada dropped in grade and scored an easy 1.8-length win at Pakenham last time out.

The five-year-old gelding was miles too good for the field and staying in midweek company shouldn’t give him any worries.

He owns a win and a placing from three starts at Sandown, so keep him safe.
