We have expert betting tips for racing at Sandown on Saturday, which includes nine races at the premier meeting.
Punters get good value odds for the Victorian meeting, and we have betting tips for every race on the card.
Looking to make a winning debut is Semantics, who is bred to be good, and her trial form is excellent.
The Godolphin filly by Exceed and Excel won a trial at Randwick and Caulfield, which should top her off nicely for her debut run.
She gets the inside draw with Craig Williams riding, which is ideal.
Stake: 2 Units
We like the ground Houdini made last time out at Bendigo, and he should be tough to beat at the weights.
The four-year-old gelding by Snitzel gets in with only 52.5kg on his back, and that could be enough for his winning form to return.
Expect him to settle back in the field and finish strongly.
Stake: 1 Unit
Nathan Dunn lines up Brass in Pocket, who won at Sale two back before placing at Caulfield last time out.
The three-year-old filly by Dirty Work shows good barrier speed, so we expect her to lead and grip on gamely against a tidy field.
The $5.50 odds are worth including as a value bet.
Stake: 1 Unit
Gilded Water is the class runner of the field after posting four wins and five placings from 11 starts, and kicking off over 1800m is ideal.
The five-year-old son of Fastnet Rock loves the sting out of the ground, and his recent trial win at Caulfield is a sign of things to come.
Take the $2.80 odds before money comes for him late.
Stake: 2 Units
Landmark finished off nicely for second at Caulfield last start, and if they go quickly up front, he should power home again.
The Lloyd Kennewell-trained four-year-old does rely on luck in running, but he owns a superior turn-of-foot, which should see him go close.
Take the each-way odds as a value price.
Stake: 1 Unit
Bella Verona should have won last start after not getting all favours in the run, but she still finished well for second.
The three-year-old filly showed her ability when winning on debut at Cranbourne, and she is a good chance of getting back to that form.
54kg on her back is ideal, so she’s the best bet.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Looking to make a winning Australian debut is Boniface, who owns three wins from five starts in France.
We don’t mind French form in Australia, especially over the middle distance, and his last start was a 1.8-length win over the mile.
International form must be respected at this level, so include him in horse racing picks.
Stake: 1 Unit
King Zephyr is unbeaten in three starts at Sandown, and getting back to this track could see his winning form return.
He hasn’t been too far away in two runs this prep, including a second placing at Flemington last time out, and he had excuses fresh up at Caulfield.
He will settle back from the draw, but he’ll storm home.
Stake: 2 Units
There could be a blowout in the final race with Red Galaxy, who is paying over the odds with bookmakers.
The five-year-old gelding ran well fresh up at Geelong before failing to fire in town but racing at tracks like Sandown are more his go.
He likes soft tracks, and he could go better than his odds indicate.
Stake: 1 Unit
