Sandown horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (12:25) Clanbrooke Racing Handicap (1000m)

#9 – Tycoon’s Girl @ $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Tycoon’s Girl is on debut for Team McEvoy and there has been a serious betting push, which bodes well.

The two-year-old daughter of Written Tycoon is bred to be quick and after opening at $4, her odds have firmed into $2.40.

Expect more money to come, so take what’s on offer.

Race 2. (13:00) Ladbrokes Maiden Handicap (1400m)

#2 – Fac @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Fac hasn’t had much luck in finishing second in all three career starts. He only got clear late at Cranbourne last start and a better ride gets the job done.

Punters had to take an odds-on quote last start, but the $3 is a value price now. He won’t take long to win a race and he’s capable of handling this level of opposition.

Race 3. (13:35) Tile Importer C1 Handicap (1400m)

#6 – Knock Knock @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Knock Knock is better than advertised and he could cap off consistent form with a win on Wednesday.

The Paul Preusker-trained four-year-old owns one win from 15 starts, but he also has seven placings to his name.

Barrier 12 will likely force him back but he owns a good turn-of-foot.

Race 4. (14:10) Ladbrokes Switch BM64 (1500m)

#12 – Pouvoir De Soie @ $9.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Lloyd Kennewell-trained four-year-old scored a win at Pakenham to start the campaign before running two solid races.

She comes off a fourth at Mornington where she was only a half-length behind the winner. The daughter of Puissance de Lune rises in class but dropping to 52.5kg is ideal.

$9.50 is well worth taking.

Race 5. (14:45) Ladbrokes Blended Multi BM70 (1600m)

#2 – Kurabui @ $1.85 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Kurabui is undefeated after three runs and she showed a fine turn-of-foot when scoring at Pakenham fresh up.

The daughter of Proisir exploded to win by 2.8 lengths and the added fitness should make her even harder to beat.

It’s a better field but she could be heading to much higher grades.

Race 6. (15:20) Ladbroke It BM64 (1800m)

#9 – Pearlman @ $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Pearlman comes off a much-improved run for second at Ballarat where he went down by a nose.

The five-year-old son of Nathaniel showed good promise early on before going off the boil. However, it was an encouraging effort last start and barrier two is ideal.

After opening at $7, his odds have firmed considerably.

Race 7. (15:55) Ladbroke Same Race Multi BM64 (1000m)

#7 – Rights of Man @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Danny O’Brien lines up the three-year-old colt that comes off a tough run at Moonee Valley. Dropping in class helps and he was only 1.7 lengths behind some smart types.

The well-bred son of Snitzel looked better when winning at Kyneton before running second in a competitive sprint at Pakenham.

$5 is a terrific price for a runner that could be going places.

Race 8. (16:30) Ladbrokes Bet Ticker BM70 (1000m)

#8 – Meteorite @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Meteorite was good enough to score back-to-back wins last campaign and he doesn’t take long to breakthrough.

The four-year-old son of Deep Field owns a win and a second placing from three fresh up starts, so he hits the ground running.

Getting 3kg off his back is ideal and he should show off his excellent barrier speed.
