Sandown horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (12:25) Ladbrokes Switch Maiden (1600m)
#1 – Adventure Trip @ $5.50 – Bet Now
Adventure Trip has done well to place in both career starts to date, and he could improve enough to win here.
The David Brideoake-trained colt finished third on debut at Pakenham before improving to run second at Ballarat.
He looks like a nice type in the making and a maiden win is coming soon.
Race 2. (13:00) Ive Print BM70 (1600m)
#3 – Classy Pins @ $5 – Bet Now
Classy Pins has the benefit of a race day win under his belt, and that holds her in good stead for this race.
The Maher/Eustace-trained three-year-old won at Ballarat by a narrow margin and she carried plenty of support with bookmakers.
That is the case again for this race and drawing the inside barrier should make it tough for rivals to get past her.
Race 3. (13:35) Ladbrokes Back Yourself BM64 (1300m)
#5 – Endanger @ $6 – Bet Now
Endanger was in no danger of being beaten on debut, when scoring by four lengths at Cranbourne. The Freedman-trained runner was far too good for his opposition and he could repeat the dose on Wednesday.
The son of Medaglia D’oro has drawn a touch awkwardly in barrier nine, but Mark Zahra rides and he should give him a good run.
We are expecting money to come his way on race day.
Race 4. (14:10) Ladbrokes Cash In BM70 (2400m)
#10 – Vuni @ $13 – Bet Now
Vuni could provide punters with value following his win at Sale last start. The Luke Oliver-trained gelding scored by 1.3 lengths and it was a nice effort going forward.
Rising in distance to 2400m won’t worry the son of Pierro, and despite rising in class after only one win from 16 starts, he is a progressive type.
Will Price takes 3kg off his back, so carrying 53kg is ideal.
Race 5. (14:45) Ladbrokes Same Race Multi BM70 (1600m)
#9 – Voyage De Lune @ $7 – Bet Now
The Saab Hasan-trained gelding is unbeaten after two starts and he could remain unbeaten following this race.
He scored by 1.5 lengths at Echuca on debut before scoring at Geelong last time out. He hasn’t been facing tough fields, but he is bred to get better over the mile.
Punters should get each-way odds and the apprentice claim helps his chances.
Race 6. (15:20) MRC Membership BM70 (1000m)
#3 – Lunakorn @ $3.90 – Bet Now
1000m is too short for Lunakorn but she is the best horse in this race and class could get her over the line.
The four-year-old mare scored three consecutive wins last season before running fourth in a tough race at Sandown.
She owns a win over 1200m fresh up, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see her win.
Race 7. (15:55) Ladbrokes Odds Boost BM78 (1000m)
#10 – Scipio @ $5.50 – Bet Now
The Danny O’Brien-trained gelding ended last season with three wins from his last four starts. He faced tough fields in the process, so we are expecting a good effort here.
Scipio is a proven winner over this distance and he scored a win at Sandown in March. Having won here in the past is an advantage, and having Damien Oliver ride helps.
Race 8. (16:30) Tile Importer BM70 (1400m)
#15 – Prophecies @ $15 – Bet Now
Prophecies could run well at each-way odds, following her fresh-up victory at Bendigo. The James Cummings-trained mare defeated Lake’s Folly, which is solid form.
She owns two wins and four minor placings from only 10 starts, so her consistency is good and punters often get a value price.
John Allen rides and his aggressiveness should help.
Race 9. (17:05) Ladbrokes Multi Builder BM78 (1800m)
#5 – Approach Discreet @ $5 – Bet Now
Approach Discreet is searching for his third consecutive win and Damien Oliver is sticking with him.
The five-year-old won by 2.5 lengths at Sandown two back before winning by a length last start. He is unbeaten from three starts at Sandown, so the form reads well.
Look for a strong betting push on race day.
