Scone horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:45) Emirates Park Maiden (1000m)
#8 – Little Girl @ $4.40
Little Girl looked solid in a recent trial at Rosehill when finishing third, so that’s a good form guide for maiden racing at Scone.
The three-year-old filly by Invader wasn’t far behind Written Gold and Shirvington in the trial, who both won last week, so the form checks out.
We’re happy with the each-way odds available.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 2. (14:20) Darley Country Maiden (1200m)
#3 – Scathingly @ $4.40
Scathingly has been right around the mark throughout his career, including a fourth at Scone fresh up.
The Rodney Northam-trained gelding has had two runs at Scone, so having experience here is ideal, and he’s growing into his frame.
It’s an even race and he’s good enough to take advantage.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 3. (14:55) Vinery C1 (1400m)
#2 – Clubman @ $4.40
Clubman showed good speed when winning on debut at Canberra before spelling, which is often a good sign.
The four-year-old son of Oasis Dream won by 2.3 lengths in April and he has been primed with two soft trial efforts.
The stable is firing and we’re happy to include him in picks.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 4. (15:30) Gullivers Country Boosted BM58 (1600m)
#4 – Zucchero @ $2.60
Seeking consecutive wins is Zucchero, who scored at Muswellbrook by 1.8 lengths as a $1.24 favourite.
The four-year-old gelding by Dundeel pays better odds this time around at $2.60, and we expect those odds to firm close to start time.
He’s good enough to carry the weight to victory against this class.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 5. (16:10) Arrowfield Maiden (1400m)
#5 – Brilliant Knight @ $2.00
Brilliant Knight had good betting support on debut when running fourth at Tamworth, and it wasn’t a bad effort in defeat.
The three-year-old son of Dundeel is bred to enjoy more distance and there has been notable money moves for the favourite.
Include him in multis to boost payouts.
Stake: 4 Units
Race 6. (16.50) Yarraman Park Championship C4 (1200m)
#9 – Giving Delight @ $7.00
Giving Delight opened his account this campaign with a win at Beaumont, which was a tough effort to score by a nose.
The five-year-old sat on the pace and held off the challengers, and he’s good enough to replicate that form at Scone.
That win should give him confidence to kick on with it, and punters get value odds.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 7. (17:30) Scone RSL BM58 (1000m)
#1 – Saratoga Power @ $4.00
Saratoga Power owns two wins and two placings from five starts, including an impressive win at Muswellbrook two back.
That came by 2.5 lengths in C1 grade before he finished fifth at Randwick behind Casa of Honour in a much harder race.
He’s good enough to carry the big weight over the short distance.
Stake: 2.5 Units
