Sha Tin horse racing tips
Race 1. (14:45) Waterloo C5 Handicap (1400m)
#1 – Hurricane Hunter – Bet Now
Hurricane Hunter is coming off a third placing at Sha Tin and then a run for fourth last time out. The six-year-old has been around the mark of late and he could improve on that form.
He gets barrier two, which is ideal, and having Joao Moreira in the saddle is a good guide for punters.
Race 2. (15:15) Suffolk C4 Handicap (1800m)
#5 – Gala Night – Bet Now
Gala Night scored back-to-back wins earlier this preparation before running seventh at Sha Tin last time out.
The John Moore-trained gelding scored a maiden win at Happy Valley before doubling down and winning again on this track.
It could pay to overlook his most recent run and go on form prior.
Race 3. (15:45) Somerset C4 Handicap (1650m)
#6 – This One’s For You – Bet Now
The five-year-old scored his maiden win in January and he has run some nice races since. He ran second at Sha Tin in February and that effort should see him run close here.
Drawing barrier 11 could make it tough but he gets the services of Joao Moreira and he doesn’t need to improve too much to win.
Race 4. (16:15) Essex C3 Handicap (1650m)
#8 – Clear Choice – Bet Now
Charlie Shum lines up the six-year-old that owns five wins and four placings from 27 starts. The son of Rebel Raider went close last start and a similar performance sees him winning this race.
Punters should be able to get each-way odds and drawing barrier two should see him find a forward position and fight gamely.
Race 5. (17:05) Kent C4 Handicap (1200m)
#6 – Excel Delight – Bet Now
The Size-trained gelding is a nice type in the making and he should have won more than one race. He owns four second placings, including back-to-back on this track.
He doesn’t need to improve too much to be winning this race and having the services of Moreira is a positive. He could be in for a big day and Excel Delight could be a part of that.
Race 6. (17:40) Norfolk C4 Handicap (1400m)
#1 – Ka Ying Excellent – Bet Now
Ka Ying Excellent is coming off a 1.3-length win at Sha Tin and he’s the type that could kick on with it.
The Cruz-trained gelding has finished in the money in four of his eight starts and we’re confident of his chances.
Drawing barrier four should see him right in the mix.
Race 7. (18:10) Cumberland C3 Handicap (1200m)
#4 – Fantasy – Bet Now
Fantasy has made an impressive start to his career after winning two and placing in three of his six starts.
The son of Sizzling scored comfortably by two lengths last start and he paid short odds in the process. Expect slightly better odds this time around but he’ll still be short.
Race 8. (18:40) Devon C3 Handicap (1200m)
#9 – Star Luck – Bet Now
Star Luck is knocking on the door after three consecutive placings and punters are getting nice odds for him to win.
The Lor-trained gelding owns two wins from 13 starts and although well-beaten last start, he could turn that form around.
Karis Teetan rides and the odds will be generous.
Race 9. (19:15) Cornwall C2 Handicap (1200m)
#10 – Massive Pocket – Bet Now
Massive Pocket is shooting for three consecutive wins after posting victories at Happy Valley. The six-year-old won impressively last start carrying 60.5kg and dropping to 54kg helps.
He’s going to need some luck to beat this field but he’s a runner worth following at the odds.
Race 10. (19:50) Dorset C3 Handicap (1400m)
#2 – Mighty Giant – Bet Now
Mighty Giant has made a good start to this career with three wins and two placings from only six starts. The son of Power scored by 4.3 lengths two back and followed it up with a 1.8-length win.
It’s form that is good enough to win on Sunday and having Zac Purton in the saddle is a bonus. We’re expecting a top effort.
