Sha Tin Racing Tips for Monday, April 6th 2026

We have expert betting tips for racing at Sha Tin on Monday, which features 11 races at the dual-Group 1 meeting on Easter Monday.

Punters get good value odds for the Hong Kong racing feature, and we have betting tips for every race on the card.

Sha Tin horse racing tips

Race 1. (15:30) Lugard Handicap (1000m)

#1 – Almighty Lightning

Looking to remain unbeaten is Almighty Lightning, who won on debut by two lengths, which is the best form guide for this race.

The three-year-old son of Dirty Work paid $3 when scoring on debut, and punters should expect lower odds on Monday.

Zac Purton sticks with him, which adds to his appeal.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 2. (16:00) Severn Handicap (1200m)

#5 – Majestic Delight

Seeking back-to-back wins is Majestic Delight, who scored by a length as a $3.10 chance last month.

The four-year-old son of Unite and Conquer hasn’t always been the most consistent type going around, but he could kick on with it now.

Hugh Bowman rides from barrier three, so include him in picks.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (16:30) Pollock Handicap (1600m)

#1 – Mr Cool

Mr Cool is nearing a win after posting three placings from his last four starts, including a close-up finish at Sha Tin last start.

The four-year-old son of Maurice owns a win and three placings at Sha Tin, so he runs his best races at the track.

Punters could get each-way odds on race day.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (17:00) Plunkett’s Handicap (1400m)

#2 – Lucky Ranger

Lucky Ranger ran second on debut at Sha Tin before breaking through for a one-length win at Sha Tin last time out.

The three-year-old son of Vanbrugh paid only $2 when scoring, so punters shouldn’t expect big odds on Monday afternoon.

This is a stronger field, but he looks set to rise through the grades.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 5. (17:30) Peel Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Mr Incredible

Mr Incredible won well on debut when beating Come Fast Fay Fay, and they meet again in this race.

The three-year-old son of Toronado has every chance of going back-to-back, especially with race experience under his belt.

He will get every chance from barrier four, so include him in horse racing picks.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 6. (18:00) Bluff Handicap (1000m)

#10 – Tactical Horizons

Looking to remain unbeaten after winning at Tamworth on debut is Tactical Horizons, who could measure up to this level.

It’s a long way from Tamworth to winning in Hong Kong, but the son of Zousain was immediately sold to HK interests, which is a good sign.

Punters should get each-way odds, so include him in selections.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (18:35) The Sprint Cup (1200m)

#1 – Ka Ying Rising

The best sprinter in the world, and he should win the Sprint Cup without much worry.

This is one of the weaker fields he has faced recently, and Purton will be able to dictate where he sits in the run before kicking clear.

We expect a winning margin of around 5-7 lengths.

Stake: 10 Units

Race 8. (19:10) Harlech Handicap (1400m)

#6 – The Red Hare

The Red Hare is enjoying a successful season, including a win and multiple placings.

He won at Sha Tin earlier this preparation before adding three placings from his last four starts, which is an excellent record.

It’s another good ride for Purton, who could have a big meeting.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 9. (19:45) The Chairman’s Trophy (1600m)

#1 – Voyage Bubble

Class is with Voyage Bubble, who is better than what he produced behind Romantic Warrior last time out.

There is no Romantic Warrior in this race, and that could see his best form return, which includes 12 wins and 12 placings.

Look for each-way odds on race day.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 10. (20:20) Barker Handicap (1400m)

#4 – Winning Ovation

Gunning for four consecutive wins is Winning Ovation, who has risen through the ranks in fine style this season.

The four-year-old is a former European, who was considered good enough to run in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot as a youngster.

We expect him to figure in the finish against a tough field.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 11. (20:55) Homestead Handicap (2000m)

#5 – Family Jewel

Family Jewel is getting closer to posting a win this preparation after running fourth at Sha Tin last time out.

The five-year-old always needs a couple of runs under his belt to show his best, and with Bowman riding, he should get every chance to win.

Look for value odds on race day from bookmakers.

Stake: 1 Unit
