Sha Tin horse racing tips
Race 1. (15:15) Lukfook Stellar Collection C4 (1000m)
#5 – Smart of Youth – Bet Now
Smart of Youth didn’t fire on debut when running eighth at Happy Valley but there has been a stack of support for this run.
The son of Niagara has been hammered in early betting markets and that could be because Joao Moreira is riding.
Punters should expect an improved performance this time around.
Race 2. (15:45) Lukfook Wedding Collection C5 (1400m)
#6 – Big Bully – Bet Now
Big Bully has been beaten in three runs this season but he should be able to break maiden status soon.
The David Hall-trained runner has placed in five of his 17 starts and having Moreira in the saddle could be a big help here.
His run for second two starts back was good and anything similar would see him winning.
Race 3. (16:15) Lukfook Love is Beauty C4 (1200m)
#2 – Zero Hedge – Bet Now
John Size lines up the six-year-old which owns four wins from 30 starts and could add another here.
This isn’t an overly strong field and the son of Medaglia D’oro is running well enough to put them to the sword.
He was only three lengths behind a strong field at Sha Tin last start and we’re expecting that form to stack up nicely in this.
Race 4. (16:45) Lukfook Antique Gold Handicap (1800m)
#10 – Proud Sky – Bet Now
Proud Sky is an experienced customer which hasn’t been able to win recently, but he’s rarely too far away from the prize.
The six-year-old has had 46 starts throughout his career and he’s knocking on the door of a win after three consecutive close-up finishes.
He was only 1.3 lengths behind the winner last start and he could provide punters with some good value here.
Race 5. (15:15) Lukfook Goldstyle C4 Handicap (1400m)
#1 – Amazing – Bet Now
Amazing isn’t quite amazing, but good enough to be considered a winning chance here.
The Yung-trained six-year-old is fresh up for the season after not winning for some time now.
He’s going to need to call upon his earlier form to win this race but there is confidence in the market, so that’s a positive sign.
Should prove tough to beat with Zac Purton in the saddle.
Race 6. (15:50) Lukfook Jewellery Dear Q C4 (1600m)
#11 – Savvy Seven – Bet Now
Savvy Seven will need to turn around a poor showing at Sha Tin but his earlier form would be good enough to win.
The John Moore-trained four-year-old is still in maiden grades after 19 starts, but he has six placings and that should be good enough for this race.
Gets in with only 53kg on his back and there has been good early support in the betting.
Race 7. (16:20) Lukfook Love Forever C3 (1200m)
#4 – Elite Patch – Bet Now
Elite Patch showed elite form when winning at Sha Tin last start and it came emphatically by four lengths.
The Lui-trained gelding is a three-time winner from 16 starts and with three runs under his belt this campaign, he’s ready for another win.
He’s bred to be tough and he could continue winning now.
Race 8. (16:50) Lukfook Jewellery Cup C2 (1400m)
#1 – Decrypt – Bet Now
Decrypt is a former European runner which was good enough to run third in the Group 1 2000 Guineas at The Curragh.
That’s going to be great form for a race like this and although you don’t see many Europeans in Hong Kong, he looks a nice type.
It won’t be easy to win after a long break but it’s good to see Purton riding and that’s going to add to the appeal.
Race 9. (17:25) Lukfook Pt Collection C3 Handicap (1200m)
#9 – Quadruple Double – Bet Now
The David Hall-trained runner has been in good form this season, which includes two wins and two placings from four starts.
He’s a son of Zoustar which has always been around the mark in Hong Kong and getting the inside draw is going to take him close again.
Paying each-way odds and punters could take advantage.
Race 10. (18:00) Lukfook Hugging Family C3 (1600m)
#10 – Super Elegance – Bet Now
Super Elegance is only a one-race winner but he went close at Sha Tin last start and a repeat could be on the cards.
The son of Teofilo ran second by a nose and it won’t take him long to secure his second career win.
Drawn wide so he will need luck, but he could settle back and finish over the top.
