Sha Tin horse racing tips

Race 1. (16:00) Amber C4 Handicap (1800m)

#1 – Super Fast – Bet @ Sportsbet

Super Fast could open the meeting with a win for each-way punters. The five-year-old gelding owns two wins and two placings from 21 starts, but he has been getting close this season.

He finished second at Sha Tin three back behind Copartner Era and anything close to that run could be enough.

1.5kg comes off his back and punters get value odds.

Race 2. (16:30) Aquamarine C5 Handicap (1200m)

#8 – Telecom Missile – Bet @ Sportsbet

Telecom Missile wasn’t too far behind the winner fresh up and he should improve with a run under his belt.

The five-year-old son of Smart Missile has only one win from 18 starts, but he hasn’t had much luck in most of his starts.

Barrier six is ideal, so include him in selections.

Race 3. (17:00) Garnet C4 Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Snowalot – Bet @ Sportsbet

Snowalot scored by just under a length on debut at Sha Tin and a repeat could be on the cards.

The four-year-old son of Contributer paid $10, so the expectations were low, but he held off a talented field.

Getting the inside draw with Zac Purton riding is ideal.

Race 4. (17:30) Jasper Handicap C5 (1650m)

#1 – London Luckystar – Bet @ Sportsbet

The five-year-old needs a good ride from Joao Moreira after drawing barrier 13, but he’s a nice type.

The son of Holy Roman Emperor owns two placings this preparation and despite running poorly two back, he bounced back with a fifth at Sha Tin last start.

That form is good enough to beat this field.

Race 5. (18:00) Kowloon Tong Club C4 Trophy (1200m)

#13 – Flying Dragon – Bet @ Sportsbet

Flying Dragon has been right around the mark in three runs to date, including two placings.

The four-year-old son of Per Incanto comes off a third placing at Sha Tin by 1.1 lengths, so he was right in the thick of the finish.

Barrier 13 hurts, but he goes close with luck.

Race 6. (18:35) Onyx C4 Handicap (1400m)

#2 – Pins Prince – Bet @ Sportsbet

Pins Prince scored narrowly on debut at Sha Tin and he could remain unbeaten under these conditions.

The New Zealand-bred son of Pins rises in weight, but he should get a nice run from barrier six and with Moreira riding.

Punters could get each-way odds on race day.

Race 7. (19:05) Carbine Club C2 (1200m)

#4 – Sight Success – Bet @ Sportsbet

Sight Success scored consecutive wins at Happy Valley before running fifth last start. The five-year-old has had only one start on this track, but he’s good enough to win.

He finished only 1.3 lengths behind the winner on that occasion and a similar effort should see him right around the mark.

Getting barrier two brings him into calculations.

Race 8. (19:35) Opal C3 Handicap (1000m)

#3 – Metro Warrior – Bet @ Sportsbet

Metro Warrior runs his best races at Sha Tin with 13 starts for a win and seven placings.

The five-year-old son of Fastnet Rock comes off a fourth at Sha Tin, so he could improve on that position and score for punters.

Having Purton riding helps and he has had past success with Metro Warrior.

Race 9. (20:10) Peridot C3 Handicap (1650m)

#1 – Ultra Express – Bet @ Sportsbet

Ultra Express comes off three wins from his last four starts and his 1.5-length win last start is a good form guide.

The five-year-old son of Power got the better of a good field and despite rising in weight, he should handle this field.

He doesn’t know how to run a bad race, so expect another top effort.

Race 10. (20:45) Tourmaline C3 Handicap (1400m)

#5 – Beauty Legacy – Bet @ Sportsbet

Beauty Legacy has yet to win this preparation but the six-year-old hasn’t done much wrong.

The son of Fiorente has been under three lengths behind the winner at his last two starts, so those runs were encouraging.

Getting barrier three helps and he should be in the mix.
