Sha Tin horse racing tips

Race 1. (16:00) Gold-Fun C4 Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Resolute – Bet @ Sportsbet

Resolute comes off back-to-back second placings and he’s not far off scoring his second career win.

The Tony Millard-trained four-year-old was only a half-length off the winner on both occasions and he doesn’t need to improve to win this contest.

Drawing the inside barrier should make him hard to beat.

Race 2. (16:30) Ambitious Dragon C2 Handicap (2000m)

#5 – Charity Go – Bet @ Sportsbet

Charity Go comes off some strong form this campaign, including a win at Sha Tin and a recent placing behind Assimilate.

The six-year-old son of Harbour Watch runs his best races on this track and punters get each-way odds on Sunday.

It’s a competitive field but stick with him.

Race 4. (17:35) Super Kid C4 Handicap (1800m)

#10 – Exaltation – Bet @ Sportsbet

Exaltation is getting close to a win despite going 25 runs without crossing the line first. He has finished second in three consecutive starts and the addition of Zac Purton helps.

His best form hasn’t come at Sha Tin but his confidence should be up. That could be enough to see him score a long overdue maiden win.

Punters should get each-way odds.

Race 5. (18:05) California Memory C4 Handicap (1400m)

#2 – Master Hero – Bet @ Sportsbet

Master Hero comes off a win at Sha Tin and he’s capable of going back-to-back. The four-year-old son of Savabeel has steadily built towards the win and we like his chances again.

Joao Moreira sticks with him and although this field is packed with talented types, he could be the best of them.

Watch for late betting moves.

Race 6. (18:35) Good Ba Ba C3 Handicap (1200m)

#7 – Lucky Fun – Bet @ Sportsbet

Lucky Fun comes off back-to-back wins at Sha Tin and he’s capable of making it three on the bounce.

The four-year-old gelding scored by 1.5 lengths at Sha Tin two starts back before carrying 60.5kg to beat some smart types last start.

Zac Purton rides with only 54.5kg on his back, which should make him tough to beat.

Race 8. (19:40) Lucky Nine C2 Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Will Power – Bet @ Sportsbet

Will Power is always around the mark and his form this campaign is evidence of that. The five-year-old owns five wins and four placings from just 11 starts, so there is plenty to like.

He looked good earlier this season when scoring consecutive wins and his recent form includes back-to-back second placings.

Karis Teetan rides and punters get each-way odds.

Race 9. (20:15) The Hong Kong Classic Cup (1800m)

#2 – Excellent Proposal – Bet @ Sportsbet

The John Size-trained gelding is on track for the Derby following a Group 1 win in the Classic Mile.

It was a terrific effort at $26 and he could cause a minor upset again. The son of Exceed and Excel is a seven-time winner from 10 starts and he has matured nicely this season.

Blake Shinn takes the ride and we’re expecting another top effort.

Race 10. (20:50) Werther C3 Handicap (1400m)

#4 – Flagship Glory – Bet @ Sportsbet

Flagship Glory is a former UK runner that finished third in his Hong Kong debut in January. It was a better effort than expected as he ran at odds of $16.

Punters should expect plenty of improvement from the four-year-old son of Australia and Joao Moreira takes the ride.

Expect a good run in the final race of the night.
