Sha Tin horse racing tips

Race 1. (15:15) Carpenter C4 Handicap (1200m)

#12 – Brilliant – Bet Now

The five-year-old has rattled off consecutive third placings this campaign and he’s well-weighted to win.

He carries only 53.5kg for this race after finishing third at Sha Tin last start and he was under a length behind the winner.

Drawing barrier 14 makes it tough but stick with him.

Race 2. (15:45) Hau Wong C5 Handicap (1600m)

#2 – Gold Velvet – Bet Now

Gold Velvet is knocking on the door after a last-start placing at Happy Valley.

The six-year-old finished a long neck behind the winner and although drawing barrier 12 makes it harder, it could add some value.

Matthew Poon takes some weight off his back and this isn’t a very deep field.

Race 3. (16:15) Carpenter C4 Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Inner Flame – Bet Now

Douglas Whyte lines up the four-year-old gelding that was a convincing winner on debut.

The son of Zoustar scored by two lengths over a capable field and he looks a good chance of rising through the grades.

Alex Badel rides and he could pay each-way odds.

Race 4. (16:45) Nam Kok C4 Handicap (1650m)

#1 – Best Alliance – Bet Now

Best Alliance is getting closer to a win after finishing a nose behind the winner at Sha Tin last time out.

The Whyte-trained five-year-old had been mixing his form this season but improved significantly last start and that form should stack up nicely.

Drawing barrier four should ensure that he gets a good run throughout and Karis Teetan rides, so respect his chances.

Race 5. (17:15) Nga Tsin Wai C3 Handicap (1200m)

#7 – Farhh Above – Bet Now

Farhh Above looked like a good type in the making after winning by 3.3 lengths at Sha Tin last time out.

The four-year-old was effortless in the victory and he showed real improvement after running second on debut.

Luck will be needed from barrier 14, which is why he’s paying each way odds. However, he’s a nice type in the making so consider.

Race 6. (17:50) South Wall C4 Handicap (1400m)

#3 – Sam’s Love – Bet Now

Sam’s Love is an experience customer that has had 26 starts for two wins and eight placings.

The two wins could have easily been more but he’s coming off a successful run at Sha Tin. The half-length win should give him more confidence going forward.

The rider takes 4.5kg off his back and that’s a big asset to have.

Race 7. (18:20) South Wall C4 Handicap (1400m)

#4 – Triple Triple – Bet Now

Frankie Lor lines up the five-year-old gelding that is coming off a gutsy win at Sha Tin.

The son of Per Incanto showed nothing on debut when finishing last of 12 runners but improvement came quickly following that.

He finished third last November before breaking through last month on this track. Joao Moreira takes the ride and that form should stack up nicely.

Race 8. (18:50) Lok Sin Tong Anniversary Cup (1650m)

#2 – Bear Slam Bet Now

Bear Slam is having his first start since October, when he scored a 1.5-length win at Sha Tin.

The five-year-old is a five-time winner from 22 starts and his form last preparation was much better than he had been showing.

This is a tough field but having Moreira in the saddle is ideal and that should drive the odds down a touch.

Race 9. (19:25) Tak Ku Ling C3 Handicap (1400m)

#1 – Super Star – Bet Now

Super Star scored an impressive win fresh up this campaign and although beaten in two runs since, they have been good runs.

The Tony Millard-trained runner has four wins from nine starts and another four placings. It’s tough to overlook that record and with a good ride, he should be fighting out the finish.

Each-way odds on offer.

Race 10. (20:00) Lung Kong C2 Handicap (1600m)

#10 – Band of Brothers – Bet Now

Paul O’Sullivan lines up the five-year-old that has won this campaign and also finished in the money his last two races.

The son of Sahkee’s Secret gets right down in the weights at 54.5kg and Karis Teetan rides from barrier four.

He’s going to be tough to hold out here and punters should be getting value odds.
