We have expert betting tips for the card this Monday at Sha Tin in Hong Kong, which features 10 quality betting races.
Sha Tin doesn’t usually host a Monday card but due to the premier racing on Sunday out of Singapore, the card has been scheduled to give punters some early action.
Sha Tin free tips & form
Race 1. (15:00) Racing Goes On Handicap (1200m)
#1 – Victoriam – Bet Now
Victoriam has race experience and that’s going to help against this field. The Lui-trained runner scored a good win at Sha Tin by 2.3 lengths last time out.
It was able to ride the speed and give a good kick in the straight, which is always a good sign going forward.
Plenty of money expected come race day.
Race 2. (15:50) World-Class Leadership Handicap (1650m)
#4 – Above – Bet Now
This isn’t a very good field and Above could take advantage. The John Moore-trained runner wasn’t all that far behind when fifth last start and Zac Purton takes the ride.
He can’t do much wrong at the moment and given that there’s very little form to speak of in this race, it could run close.
Punters should be getting each-way odds.
Race 3. (16:00) Uncompromising Integrity Handicap (1000m)
#2 – Dancing Fighter – Bet Now
Dancing Fighter could be one of the better-backed runners of the day. The Caspar Fownes-trained runner was a good winner on debut and was quickly spelled following that.
That did come in December, so it has had some time off the track, but winning form in this field is good and it’s going to be tough to beat.
We’re pleased to see Zac Purton in the saddle but he won’t help with the odds.
Race 4. (16:30) Serving The Community Handicap (1400m)
#7 – Packing Rockstar – Bet Now
Fifth on debut when well backed and it only has improvement to come. The Yiu-trained runner made good ground from midfield at Happy Valley and although this is its first look at Sha Tin, that shouldn’t be a problem.
It will likely settle midfield again after drawing barrier 11, so if there’s pace on up front, expect Packing Rockstar to finish over the top of them.
Race 5. (17:00) Continuous Development Handicap (1650m)
#3 – Touch of Luck – Bet Now
Form is with Touch of Luck, which has won and placed twice from its last three starts. The Moore-trained runner was only beaten by a long neck last start so take nothing away from that performance.
Its win came by over one length on this track and despite rising in weight for this, it looks another strong chance for jockey Zac Purton.
Touch of Luck looks a good bet.
Race 6. (17:30) The Guangdong Hong Kong Cup Handicap (1650m)
#2 – Ping Hai Treasure – Bet Now
Joao Moreira rides the talented type which was good enough to win twice already this preparation.
Trained by John Size, Ping Hai Treasure is a gelding which had excuses when running fourth last start and he can get back to winning form in this.
The breeding is there and punters should get nice odds.
Race 7. (18:05) Reunification Cup Handicap (1200m)
#5 – Thanks Forever – Bet Now
Thanks Forever has been well backed throughout the week and it’s not hard to see why. The Moore-trained runner is unbeaten after three starts and looks a nice type in the making.
Both wins have came by more than two lengths and it has beaten some nice types along the way.
That bodes well for this run and although it’s rising in grade, it hasn’t done anything to suggest that it won’t continue to rise through the grades.
Race 8. (18:40) Riding High Together Handicap (1200m)
#10 – Aethero – Bet Now
Punters are going to get skinny odds for Aethero but they’re worth taking. The Moore-trained runner has looked special winning both career starts to date.
The first came by two lengths on debut and then it backed that up with a 3.3-length win last start. Both were run in good time and it looks a big type for the future.
Drawing barrier 14 makes it interesting but Purton rides.
Race 9. (19:15) Sportsmanship Handicap (2000m)
#9 –Champion Supreme – Bet Now
Looked good winning consecutive races earlier this campaign and although it was average last start, it could bounce back.
The Moore-trained gelding gets in nicely on the weights with only 53.5kg on his back and there has been good betting support.
If he shows the ability from earlier this campaign, he goes close to winning.
Race 10. (19:50) Better Future Handicap (1400m)
#5 – Winning Delight – Bet Now
Winning Delight could make a winning return to the track. The Fownes-trained runner hasn’t been seen since running second at Bendigo in Australia. That came in October last year and it could make a winning debut in Hong Kong.
It’s tough to line up that form but it looks a nice bet in the last.
