Sha Tin horse racing tips
Race 1. (14:30) Mr Award C5 Handicap (1200m)
#4 – Spicy Grill – Bet @ Sportsbet
Coming off his maiden win is Spicy Grill, who took 15 starts to break the duck. The son of Pierro is capable of rising through the grades now and he could go back-to-back.
There has been solid betting support in early markets and it’s not an overly strong field, so stick with him at each-way odds.
Race 2. (15:00) Big Profit C4 Handicap (1400m)
#9 – Super Mission – Bet @ Sportsbet
The four-year-old gelding has yet to win from 10 starts, but he owns four placings and that form should be good enough.
It’s only a matter of time before he breaks through and his second placing at Sha Tin two starts back is a good betting guide.
Expect something similar with Karis Teetan riding.
Race 3. (15:30) Medic Kingdom C5 Handicap (1400m)
#7 – Viva Mama – Bet @ Sportsbet
Viva Mama scored a narrow victory at Happy Valley two back and he followed it up with a solid third placing.
The four-year-old son of Dream Ahead has yet to win or place in six attempts at Sha Tin, but he drops in weight and he’s a runner worth following.
Race 4. (16:00) Victory Marvel C4 Handicap (1200m)
#1 – My Ecstatic – Bet @ Sportsbet
Frankie Lor lines up the four-year-old gelding that owns a win and two placings from nine starts, so he’s typically around the mark.
The son of All Too Hard was only 1.5 lengths behind the winner when running second last start and that could be a sign of things to come.
Expect money to come for him on race day.
Race 5. (16:30) Entrapment C4 Handicap (1200m)
#4 – Lucky With You – Bet @ Sportsbet
Lucky With You finished second on debut at Sha Tin and he’s capable of going one better. He was only a short margin behind Infinite Power, which should be a good form guide.
The three-year-old son of Artie Schiller has been well-backed in early markets and we’re happy to have him on our tickets.
Watch betting markets for late moves.
Race 6. (17:00) All You Wish C4 Handicap (1400m)
#3 – Gracylove – Bet @ Sportsbet
Gracylove owns a win and three second placings at Sha Tin and he’s in form, so we’re expecting it to continue on Sunday.
He scored a win at Sha Tin two back and followed it up with a tidy second placing. That form is solid and getting the inside draw brings him into contention.
Race 7. (17:30) Solar Hei Hei C4 Handicap (2000m)
#7 – Swot Troopers Wind – Bet @ Sportsbet
David Hall lines up the four-year-old son of Smart Missile that has scored two wins from his last four starts.
His most recent win came at Sha Tin and despite rising in weight for this contest, he’s capable of going back-to-back.
1kg comes off his back and every little bit helps.
Race 8. (18:05) The Sha Tin Mile Trophy (1600m)
#1 – Champion’s Way – Bet @ Sportsbet
John Size lines up the five-year-old son of Hinchinbrook that comes off a third placing behind Sky Field, which should be a good form guide.
He has been around the mark his entire campaign, including a win at Group 3 level in January ahead of Sky Darci. A repeat of that effort takes him close here.
Race 9. (18:40) Pingwu Spark C3 Handicap (1200m)
#6 – Dublin Star – Bet @ Sportsbet
Dublin Star scored a one-length win at Sha Tin in May before finishing 1.5 lengths behind the winner last time out.
The four-year-old son of Savabeel has been around the mark throughout his career, which includes three wins and eight placings.
Karis Teetan rides so punters should get a good sight.
Race 10. (19:15) H.K. Racehorse Owners Association C1 (1200m)
#7 – Lucky Patch – Bet @ Sportsbet
Lucky Patch is a four-time winner from 12 starts and that is an excellent record. He hasn’t won at his last seven starts, but he’s overdue and dropping to 51kg is ideal.
The four-year-old son of El Roca wasn’t far behind them last time out and he gets every chance from the inside draw.
Each-way odds should be available.
Race 11. (19:50) Contentment C3 Handicap (1400m)
#6 – Blaze Warrior – Bet @ Sportsbet
Blaze Warrior is unbeaten after two starts and punters shouldn’t expect big odds for this run.
The three-year-old scored by 1.3 lengths on debut before adding a 3.3-length win. Those wins bode well and he gets the inside draw with Joao Moreira in the saddle.
Three straight wins looks likely.
