Sha Tin horse racing tips

Race 1. (15:00) Waglan Island C5 Handicap (1650m)

#10 – Great Smart – Bet Now

Great Smart turned around some average form to score at Sha Tin last start and he could kick on with it now.

The son of Fastnet Rock is a three-time winner and he gets in with only 55kg on his back. That helps and he should go close in the opening race.

Race 2. (15:30) Peng Chau C4 Handicap (1200m)

#2 – Bright Kid – Bet Now

The So-trained gelding has been in good form this preparation with a win and a placing. The win came at Happy Valley and he backed that up with a close second placing.

He is yet to do much at Sha Tin but Zac Purton is an important booking and that should see him run well.

Watch for any late betting moves.

Race 3. (16:00) Peng Chau C4 Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Mighty Valor – Bet Now

Mighty Valor took six runs to show his best form but he did it in style last start. The three-year-old hadn’t done anything at his first five starts, but won by 4.5 lengths on a yielding surface.

He draws wide for this run so will need luck, but the confidence is up now and he should give each-way punters a sight.

Race 4. (16:30) Cheung Chau C3 Handicap (1200m)

#10 – Flying Bonus – Bet Now

The five-year-old son of Snitzel is a three-time winner that could add to his record. He scored a win at Happy Valley two starts back before disappointing last start.

However, he usually bounces back in style and running with only 50.5kg on his back is going to see him right in the thick of it.

Punters will get each-way odds.

Race 5. (17:00) Tung Lung Chau C4 Handicap (1650m)

#3 – Party Everyday – Bet Now

Party Everyday is in good hands and looks set for another tidy effort. The four-year-old son of Snitzel scored a win at Sha Tin last start and could win again.

He showed a nice turn-of-foot to score by a half-length and he should get a nice run from barrier eight with Karis Teetan riding.

He should be well-favoured on race day.

Race 6. (17:35) Po Toi C4 Handicap (1400m)

#2 – Armor Star – Bet Now

The Frankie Lor-trained gelding scored a narrow win last time out and he could go back-to-back. He scored only by a nose but it is good to see Zac Purton sticking with him.

The son of Dalghar is bred to appreciate the longer distances and punters are getting odds worth taking. He is a risky bet but worth it at his current odds.

Race 7. (18:05) Kat O C3 Handicap (2000m)

#2 – Beauty Happy – Bet Now

It is tough to overlook winning form and Beauty Happy has it. The John Moore-trained gelding scored both wins at Happy Valley but that form could hold up well here.

He should get every chance in the run from barrier five and he has an in-form jockey in the saddle.

Expect a tidy effort at odds.

Race 8. (18:35) Grass Island C3 Handicap (1650m)

#7 – Clear Choice – Bet Now

Clear Choice is the clear choice after winning back-to-back races on this track earlier this preparation. His form since has been good, including a second placing last start.

He is a two-time winner on this track and with Karis Teetan in the saddle, he should get every chance in the run.

Most of the early money has come for it.

Race 9. (19:10) Lamma Island C3 Handicap (1400m)

#5 – Win Win – Bet Now

Win Win could go bang bang after scoring at Sha Tin last start. The four-year-old son of Casino Prince scored by 1.5 lengths and that should be a good form guide for the future.

He gets a 4.5kg claimer in the saddle and that should make all the difference in this grade. Carrying 52kg should be enough to go close.

Race 10. (19:45) Lantau Island C2 Handicap (1400m)

#3 – Happy Fun – Bet Now

Happy Fun gets the services of Zac Purton and the champion jockey could make the difference.

The six-year-old by Darci Brahma is coming off a third placing at Sha Tin and he does his best racing here. He owns two wins and six placings at Sha Tin, so expect another top effort.

Each-way odds should be available for punters.
