Sha Tin horse racing tips

Race 1. (15:30) Pakistan Star Plate (1200m)

#1 – Circuit Nine – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Circuit Nine was too good for them on debut when winning by 1.8 lengths and a repeat effort could be on the cards.

The Tony Cruz-trained son of Caravaggio didn’t have massive betting support but he should this time around.

Getting the inside draw is ideal and punters should be confident.

Race 2. (16:00) Makarpura Star C4 Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Victory Scholars – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Victory Scholars comes off a tidy second placing at Sha Tin and he hasn’t done much wrong throughout his career.

The four-year-old son of Per Incanto owns a win and four placings from eight starts, which is a solid enough record.

Having Zac Purton in the saddle is a bonus, so put him on top.

Race 3. (16:30) Precision C4 Handicap (1000m)

#4 – Noble One – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Noble One didn’t fire on debut at Happy Valley but he turned his form around with a second placing at Sha Tin.

The three-year-old son of Deep Field was a short margin behind the winner and a repeat effort would see him go close.

It’s another good ride for Purton, who could have a big day.

Race 4. (17:00) Helene Super Star C4 Handicap (1400m)

#6 – Wide Blue Yonder – Bet @ Ladbrokes

The David Hayes-trained three-year-old wasn’t too far behind the winner on debut and he can build on that effort.

The son of Power will need to contend with a wide barrier draw, but we think he could mature into a handy type at this level.

Each-way odds should be available on race day.

Race 5. (17:30) River Verdon C3 Handicap (1200m)

#7 – Power Koepp – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Power Koepp comes off a narrow win at Sha Tin and a repeat of that performance should see him right in the thick of the action.

The four-year-old owns two wins and two placings from eight starts, so there is a good base and having Joao Moreira in the saddle helps.

Carrying 55.5kg is another bonus and the money should come.

Race 7. (18:35) Blazing Speed C4 Handicap (1400m)

#3 – Eternal Bloom – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Eternal Bloom scored a quality win two back at Sha Tin and he followed it up with a tidy fourth last time out.

The three-year-old son of Turn Me Loose was only 2.9 lengths behind the winner and drawing barrier three should see him right in the mix.

It could pay to watch for late betting moves.

Race 8. (19:05) Indigenous C3 Handicap (1400m)

#3 – Beauty Live – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Beauty Live is a three-time winner from six starts and he’s good enough to turn his recent seventh around.

The four-year-old son of Shamus Award scored at Sha Tin two back in March and anything close to that would be good enough form.

We expect most of the money to come his way on race night.

Race 9. (19:35) The Sha Tin Vase (1200m)

#1 – Sky Field – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Sky Field is a professional type who finished third behind Wellington in the Chairman’s Sprint Prize last start.

The five-year-old is a six-time winner from 21 starts and jumping from barrier two should give him every chance.

We’re expecting a return to winning form.

Race 10. (20:10) Viva Pataca C3 Handicap (1600m)

#2 – Maldives – Bet @ Ladbrokes

The David Hall-trained gelding is getting close to a win after four consecutive placings and he is our top pick.

He is only a three-time winner from 21 starts but the son of Burgundy is well worth following at this level.

Blake Shinn will need to find cover from the draw but include him in selections.

Race 11. (20:45) Exultant C3 Handicap (2000m)

#1 – Copartner Elites – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Copartner Elites is knocking on the door after three consecutive placings and we’re confident of a good run.

He hasn’t won since arriving in Hong Kong from Europe, but his form is good enough to compete at this level.

Punters could get each-way odds on race day.
