Sha Tin horse racing tips
Race 1. (22:15) Tsim Mei Fung C5 Handicap (1200m)
#6 – General Trump – Bet @ Sportsbet
The six-year-old is only a two-time winner, but he’s not facing an overly difficult field on Wednesday night.
He has had three runs this season, and his recent efforts for fourth at Sha Tin are a good form indication for this race.
One of his two wins came at Sha Tin, so that bodes well.
Race 2. (22:45) Hebe Hill C2 Handicap (1650m)
#7 – Telecom Fighters – Bet @ Sportsbet
Telecom Fighters comes off an impressive win at Happy Valley where he scored by 3.3 lengths. It was a tough effort and he shouldn’t be worried about most runners in this field.
He does rise in weight after carrying 52.5kg, but it’s not an overly strong field, and most of the early money has come his way.
Expect more money to come for him on race day.
Race 3. (23:15) Wa Mei Shan C5 Handicap (1800m)
#12 – Lucky Victor – Bet @ Sportsbet
Lucky Victor scored his first career win two back at Sha Tin by two lengths, and his resuming run for third was a good sign.
The five-year-old son of Champions Gallery owns a win and a placing from three starts at Sha Tin, so he likes the course best.
Carrying a light weight is ideal and punters should get each-way odds.
Race 4. (23:45) Tin Ha Shan C4 Handicap (1200m)
#4 – Steel Win – Bet @ Sportsbet
Steel Win is searching for three consecutive wins after scoring on either side of a spell by a nose.
He fought gamely in both wins, and although Joao Moreira isn’t in the saddle this time around, Derek Leung is a capable replacement.
He didn’t show much form at Happy Valley early on, but since going to Sha Tin, his form has improved significantly.
Race 5. (00:15) Tiu Yue Yung C4 Handicap (1800m)
#12 – London Luckystar – Bet @ Sportsbet
London Luckystar hasn’t done much throughout his career, but his form this season has been encouraging.
The five-year-old finished third fresh up before going well for second last start. Those runs should have him fit order for this race, and he stays down in the weights at 51.5kg.
Punters should get each-way value on race day.
Race 6. (00:45) Tin Ha Shan C4 Handicap (1200m)
#5 – Sunny Delight – Bet @ Sportsbet
Sunny Delight is knocking on the door of a win after consecutive placings, including finishing a nose behind the winner last start.
The four-year-old son of Power was well-backed to win at Sha Tin, and although narrowly defeated, punters should stick with him.
Barrier 10 is a concern, but he has upside.
Race 7. (01:15) Shek Uk Shan C3 Handicap (1650m)
#7 – True Legend – Bet @ Sportsbet
True Legend is a three-time winner from 17 starts, including scoring two starts back at Sha Tin.
The five-year-old son of Deep Field finished third fresh up at Sha Tin, and he shouldn’t take too much longer to score this season.
Dropping to 54.5kg is ideal, and the early money is on True Legend.
Race 8. (01:50) Pyramid Hill C3 Handicap (1200m)
#1 – California Concord – Bet @ Sportsbet
California Concord hasn’t won for some time now, but he showed good consistency last campaign.
The six-year-old son of Fastnet Rock was only 1.8 lengths behind the winner last start, and he is a two-time winner at Sha Tin.
Having Zac Purton in the saddle is ideal, so put him on top.
