Stradbroke Handicap Form Guide & Tips

1. Private Eye (Best Roughie – $16) Bet @ Neds

He’s getting back to this best and he gets conditions to suit. He gets the inside draw and we’re not leaving him out at the odds.

2. Laws of Indicies ($17) Bet @ Neds

Didn’t fire last start and he’s too short in the betting for our liking. We could have entertained his chances at around $30.

3. Apache Chase (Best Each Way – $10) Bet @ Neds

Value odds available for a runner coming off a Group 1 win. Drawn well, likely to find the front and show a good kick.

The odds are worth snapping before they shorten for this stats machine.

4. Eleven Eleven ($5) Bet @ Neds

The current favourite following a tidy effort for third behind Apache Chase. Good enough to turn the tables and he goes into the mix for multiples.

5. Alligator Blood ($11) Bet @ Neds

He returned to form with a second placing behind Soxagon but drawing barrier 21 could put an end to his chances.

He will need to get back in the run and rely on luck or a big finish to get close.

6. Soxagon ($18) Bet @ Neds

Searching for three consecutive wins and that was a tough win last time out. It bodes well and we’re not overlooking his chances.

Punters get odds worth taking and he could boost payouts.

7. Emerald Kingdom ($41) Bet @ Neds

Mixing form and he’s not the most consistent type going around. Good win two back and we didn’t see enough last time out.

8. Wild Planet ($126) Bet @ Neds

Big odds and we can’t find room for him at this level, or at any level recently.

9. Rothfire ($14) Bet @ Neds

He’s slowly getting back to the old Rothfire but drawing barrier 20 could put too much pressure on him.

It will essentially be a 1400m sprint and he won’t have time to settle, so we can’t include him.

10. I Am Superman ($35) Bet @ Neds

Not running up to the best of his abilities and he’s another runner with a wide draw.

11. Ayrton (Best Bet – $6.50) Bet @ Neds

Drawing barrier 19 hurts his chances but he’s a classy type and carrying 54kg is a steal.

He got back to his best two back at Caulfield before pulling up lame, but we’re sticking with him and he could put this field to bed with ease.

The $6.50 is a price worth the risk.

12. Bandersnatch ($81) Bet @ Neds

His most recent win came at Tamworth and he would need to find many lengths on that performance.

13. Niccanova ($71) Bet @ Neds

Another runner not running up to his best form and it’s hard to regain form at the Group 1 level.

We’re prepared to leave out the struggling runner.

14. Buffalo River ($61) Bet @ Neds

Hard to trust this season and we’d prefer to see him in something much easier.

15. Isotope ($11) Bet @ Neds

Her last three starts haven’t been anywhere near her best. She has been respected in betting markets at the weights, but we need to see improvement.

We’re prepared to risk her and leave her out.

16. Brooklyn Hustle ($27) Bet @ Neds

Gets back from the draw and she could have too much to do in the straight. Odds are too short.

17. Vilana ($19) Bet @ Neds

A runner in form after notching three wins this preparation. He is a quality colt who could struggle in the rise in class.

18. Startantes ($18) Bet @ Neds

Not running with confidence after showing something earlier on. Not liking the odds.

19. Scallopini ($81) Bet @ Neds

A long odds and we can’t see him getting close.

20. Ranch Hand ($51) Bet @ Neds

Nominated for another race and he’s better suited to that.

21. Flying Crazy ($41) Bet @ Neds

Talented at his best but he’s unlikely to get a run.

22. Tycoonist ($91) Bet @ Neds

He shouldn’t be getting close to them. Drifting odds.

23. Frankie Pinot ($31) Bet @ Neds

Better suited to the other race he’s nominated for.
