Stradbroke Handicap Form Guide & Tips
The Bostonian (Best Bet – $4.80) Bet Now
The Bostonian won the Doomben 10,000 and Kingsford-Smith Cup leading into this and has been heavily backed to win.
He opened at $7 and has been firmly backed into $4.80 throughout the week. He’s the form runner of this field and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t beat them again.
Home Of The Brave ($16) Bet Now
Imported sprinter which showed good promise early on but didn’t show much pace when seventh fresh up.
Expecting a better run here but drawing barrier 22 is going to make it very tough.
Despatch ($14) Bet Now
Rattles into this with four consecutive wins on the bounce but those have come against easier opposition.
Still, can’t discount winning form and he gets the inside draw and a light weight on his back.
Widgee Turf ($11) Bet Now
Always a consistent runner and if they go quickly up front, he has the potential to finish over the top of them.
Drawn barrier 16 so he will need some luck from out wide but he’ll likely head back anyway.
Trekking (Best Each Way – $6.50) Bet Now
Well-backed last time out when third and there has been strong money for the Cummings-trained runner again.
The slick sprinter was working home nicely behind The Bostonian last start and he gets the big weight difference of 3kg here.
That could be enough to overturn that result.
Dollar For Dollar ($34) Bet Now
Showed good pace at his first two starts this campaign but showed little last time out.
This grade could be too tough for him.
Endless Drama ($13) Bet Now
Former Aussie which is now with Tony Pike. He’s the second-string runner from this stable but he wasn’t far behind last start and could make late ground.
$13 is a touch short of value, however.
Spright ($11) Bet Now
Subject of a $100,000 bet last start but the money went wondering. Wasn’t a bad run considering and she could be flying home at the end of the race.
Tom Melbourne ($31) Bet Now
Always an each-way chance and we’re surprised at his place odds. $8 on offer for a top three finish and there’s worse bets around.
Man Booker ($61) Bet Now
Simply not up to this level and he has been found out recently. Prefer to see in something much easier back home.
Viridine ($14) Bet Now
Scored a quality win two back and backed that up with a solid effort for fourth last start. That came in an easier race and although 53.5kg helps, he looks held.
Deploy ($21) Bet Now
Wasn’t all that far away when fresh and the light weight is going to be a big help.
Eight-time winner which could offer some value if he gets every chance during the run.
Tyzone (Best Roughie – $10) Bet Now
Comes into this off a good win and he has always promised to rise to the next level.
Has been well backed to win and with the 53kg on his back, there’s every chance he could run them down late.
I’m A Rippa ($81) Bet Now
Has quite “ripped” them this season and we’d be surprised to see him fighting out the finish. Always a nice chance back in grade, however.
Princess Posh ($23) Bet Now
Produced a much better effort when running second in the Kingsford-Smith Cup and she could back that up with another good effort.
No easier here but with 52kg on her back, there’s every chance she could figure in the finish.
Encryption ($26) Bet Now
Yet to win from six starts this preparation and that’s unlikely to change here. Looks held.
Irithea ($26) Bet Now
Showed them a clean pair of heels when winning two back. Finished close enough last start to warrant attention and she will have her followers.
Pretty In Pink ($16) Bet Now
Last-start winner which has the ability to rise through the grades. This is the ultimate grade, but with only 49.5kg on her back, there are worse bets.
Filly on the rise.
Tactical Advantage ($27) Bet Now
Always a threat as he can sit on the pace and provide a good kick. That’s made easier with the 53kg on his back and he only needs a good ride.
Streets Of Avalon ($91) Bet Now
Big rise in class and he’s likely to be outclassed.
Ringerdingding – $35
Redouble – $46
Siren’s Fury – $151
