Bendigo
—
Race 2. (12:35) Happy 90th Alan Simpson Maiden (1000m)
#2 – Rock of Kryptonite @ $3.80 – Bet Now
The three-year-old colt was well-backed to win both starts last campaign and although beaten, he faced tough fields.
He finished seventh and sixth behind the likes of Mildred and Tanker. That is stakes company and dropping back to maiden grade on a Sunday is ideal.
He is a royally-bred son of Fastnet Rock that shouldn’t take long to break maiden ranks.
Race 3. (13:15) Race Services Maiden (1000m)
#2 – Born a Warrior @ $2.05 – Bet Now
Born a Warrior raced against strong fields last season and the four-year-old should enjoy racing against this level of opposition.
The son of I Am Invincible has finished behind the likes of Time to Reign, Cosmic Force, Campese, and Excess Funds.
There is no such opposition facing him this time and he should capitalise.
Race 4. (13:55) Bendigo MG Maiden (2400m)
#9 – Bowness @ $1.70 – Bet Now
Punters will have to take short odds for Bowness, but she looks tough to beat in this grade. She finished fourth behind High Emocean at Caulfield last start, which is cracking form.
The daughter of Redwood hasn’t won from her 10 career starts, but she gets everything to suit here and she should be breaking through.
Taking an odds-on price for a non-winner is tough but include her in multi bets.
Race 7. (15:50) Bet365 BM78 (1600m)
#8 – Boomstock @ $7.50 – Bet Now
Punters are getting good odds for a consistent performer that has finished in the money in six of his seven starts this preparation.
The five-year-old by Tavistock scored at Cranbourne three back and followed that up with consecutive second placings at Cranbourne and Sale.
This is his first start at Bendigo but the odds on offer are worth taking.

Dubbo

Race 1. (12:30) Jeff Perry Memorial BM58 (1620m)
#2 – Wild Rocket @ $3.10 – Bet Now
Wild Rocket is gunning for her third consecutive win after posting wins at Dubbo and Forbes recently.
The four-year-old mare won by 4.3 lengths on this track two starts back and followed that up with a tidy win in soft conditions at Forbes.
It is good form for this race and punters are getting value odds.
Race 3. (13:50) Life Members Maiden (1120m)
#1 – Banju @ $3 – Bet Now
Banju has been well-supported throughout the week following two second placings to open his career.
The four-year-old finished second at Armidale on debut before coming to Dubbo and only narrowly being defeated.
He will take plenty of benefit from that outing and he has the experience edge over the current favourite Chevconi.
Race 5. (15:10) Milestone Hotel BM58 (1120m)
#3 – Amy’s Shadow @ $3.50 – Bet Now
Brett Thompson lines up the consistent mare that has finished in the money in all five career starts.
The daughter of Dane Shadow scored her maiden win two starts back at Warren before running second at Muswellbrook last start.
She has the ability to get back in the run and make up plenty of ground in the straight, so her turn-of-foot is impressive.
Take the $3.50 as she could start much shorter on race day.
Race 8. (17:00) Chill-Rite Daikin C2 Handicap (1420m)
#1 – From The Bush @ $2.65 – Bet Now
From The Bush has won his last two starts and that holds him in good stead for this race. The Williams-trained gelding won at Bathurst before winning on this track last start.
He settled just behind the pace and kicked too strongly to score by a half-length. Having winning experience on this track is ideal and we’re confident of his chances again.
The $2.65 could firm into around $2, so take the value odds available.
